Kevin Love is one of the few players in the NBA who can put up rebound numbers like the ones Wilt and Bill Russell used to put up. And he can score (I believe he's the last player to date who's had a 30-30 game). If you are offered him for an unproven player who could fall under the Kansas curse straight up, you take him and you'll laugh your way through the playoffs.

And if you make player personnel decisions based on some phony curse, the rest of your profession will laugh while you get fired.

Look, most Kansas players have rarely fared well in the NBA (Wilt Chamberlain and Paul Pierce are the main exceptions). It's a program that makes its players look amazing in college but fails to prepare them for the pros. It's just like Penn State football players: high-profile in college but all the momentum dries up when those days end.

It's not just about ability. There are other factors (chemistry, knowledge, the pure intangibles). In short, I really do not think Wiggins will be a star and that Cleveland should make this trade no matter what.

I like the idea of Wiggins developing around LeBron, and with Irving running the point there wont be too many teams able to handle those 3 when they're all on the court at the same time. I feel that if Love joins Cleveland, he will have to take more of a back seat like Chris Bosh did, which means no more 30-30 games. Any way you look at it, the Cavs are in a terrific position, only a disaster could prevent them from making the play-offs. And Matthew Dellavedova is an Aussie, i watched him play against China before he was signed by Cleveland, good to watch, great hussle and enthusiasm who can shoot the 3 ball

I think the team that might surprise is Portland, possibly fighting San Antonio and Oklahoma City for top spot. Lillard is a star, Matthews and Batum still under-rated and Aldridge has finally hit the form he should be. Just depends on their bench

I remember a few years back when I said Lillard wouldn't do well due to a lack of competition in college. I completely take that back now. If anything, Lillard proved that there are good players that aren't playing in the major conferences.

Well, let's not get crazy...Wilt averaged 25 rebounds a game for an entire season. Seeing someone grab that many in a game is an anomaly these days.

While doing my Basketball Hell simulation for the 1995-96 season, I had this interesting game log with a player.

The player was Cuonzo Martin (who is better known as a coach at Tennessee and formerly Missouri State, where I remember him from) and during that season, he was a bench player for the Vancouver Grizzlies.

The stat line:
-four games, seven minutes, 6/6 FG's, 6/6 3-point FG's, 18 points

And in at least one of those games, he was the team's second leading scorer with 9 points. In two minutes. Bizarrely enough, the one game where he didn't score was a win (knocking the Grizzlies out of the worst of 1996 tournament).

Worst of the worst: 1951-52 Milwaukee Hawks

Conclusion:
- the league was at its worst in the pre-shot clock days (also proof that high school ball needs shot clocks)
- the 1990-91 Denver Nuggets were an awesome bad team (average score in their two games here was 143-130)
- I might revisit this next year with the 2014-15 series facing the Hawks but I expect this team to stay as the worst of the worst

im pretty sure Wilt Chamberlin would never get 100 points in this day and age. BUT, LeBron or Durant might be able to do it more than once his Wilts age. Still interesting that the Pistons won! And did you see that sickening Paul George leg snap! Ugh

Looks like Love will end up in Cleveland...Cavs will be a team to watch. Shit for Detroit though, with Rose firing and Cavs good, they will face an uphill battle

I figured the Love-for-Wiggins was near completion as the league supposedly suspended the sale of Wiggins jerseys for the time being.

According to Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, the trade should be a done deal by August 24th.

Yep, Cavs will be a good team, 2 aussie might take a title again, but different aussies, Irving and Dellavedova. Aussie Aussie Aussie!

And bad news for Indiana incase you missed it, which most of you being from 'Merica ofc would know, Paul George is out for the next 12 months, which is good for Detroit :)
