Well, that makes eight of fifteen games relevant on the last day of the season.

8:00 pm (AZ time):

Milwaukee has defeated Pittsburgh 7-3, so they clinch homefield advantage, making the result of tonight's AZ/LA game irrelevant.

ATL/PHI still tied, going into the bottom of the 12th.

In the AL, Texas has defeated the Angels to clinch homefield over Detroit.

NYY/TB remain tied 7-7 in the top of the 10th.

Meanwhile, the BOS/BAL game has finally resumed, with the Sox leading 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th.

8:40 p.m.

The National League is set, as Atlanta completes one of the biggest meltdowns in recent memory, falling to Philly 4-3 in 13 innings.

So that means Philadelphia will start out hosting St. Louis, and Arizona will travel to Brewers country. Bring it on.

9:00 p.m.

Baltimore, down to their final strike, ties the game with Boston. Boston's not out of the woods yet.

Meanwhile, the Yankees put 1st and 3rd on with nobody out and can't score. On to the bottom of the 12th.

And the Orioles won. Papelbon gets the loss.

I bet Mother Nature bet on the Rays.

One STRIKE away from a Red Sox win and the guy hits one into the gap to tie it up.

And now they lost. This is the Red Sox season this year... Geezer shouldn't click on it until his emotional rollercoaster comes to a stop.

Holy hell. What a night of baseball. Hell, what a SEASON.

I personally can't stand Atlanta or Boston (or the Yankee, for that matter), so I'm loving this shit.

So let's start the discussion, as, I'm sure, will all baseball pundits: whose epic collapse was worse, Atlanta's or Boston's?

And now let's all cement our predictions for the playoffs!

Crazy day yesterday, that was fun to watch!

My predictions:

AL

Tampa Bay
Texas
Winner: Texas

Detroit
New York
Winner: Detroit

Texas
Detroit
Winner: Detroit

NL

Philly
St. Louis
Winner: Philly

Arizona
Milwaukee
Winner: Milwaukee

Philly
Milwaukee
Winner: Philly

World Series

Detroit
Philly
Winner: Philly

Good pitching trumps good hitting in the playoffs and Philly got the best rotation out of the bunch.

The Red Sox suck, seriously. They played some of the worst baseball I've ever seen. An awful collapse and they need to make some big changes if they expect to go back to the playoffs.
