I wouldn't want it to be a sports movie. I'd prefer if it were closer to a courtroom drama. There would be very little football in it at all, as the story has little to do with football other than that its the occupation of the principles involved, that the football program was behind the cover up, and the setting. There wouldn't be a single football game involved in it, other than maybe some set up shots of practices or games to make it flow seamlessly. But its certainly wouldn't be a "football movie" Its not about and I would certainly see it as a hard R rating, aimed more towards awards than the casual box office film-goer.

How the hell is Texas still in the Top 25 in the BCS rankings? The other polls did the right thing in voting them out so why does the BCS still think they're worthy?

And something that surprised me: Missouri got five votes in the USA Today poll despite a .500 record. I guess five voters saw through the Texas hype.

Who wouldn't be surprised to see NASCAR get backlash after yesterday's race was basically fixed to let Tony Stewart win?

The story is that Tony Stewart needed to win the race to win the championship (despite not having had a shot before the Chase, which I believe there should a rule that you've had to win a race to qualify) or less, he'd lose to Carl Edwards. So what does Stewart do? He decides to do some "favors" for other drivers in exchange for them to be easy on him (which was mentioned during the pre-race show and the race itself). Nothing is known about these favors, but it clearly sounds like he bribed other drivers to let him win. Especially since during the race, no one tried to prevent him from passing them.

Another thing I noticed: at one point during the race, Stewart had a damaged car and was running in 40th. How did his car somehow get faster and stronger and allow him to win the race? No car could survive front damage with debris getting into the grille and somehow emerge as stronger after that.

Something is going on and if this were any other league, they would check things out to see what the "favors" were and call for a full inspection on Stewart's car. But seeing that this is the ultra-corrupt NASCAR and they worship the altar of Rick Hendrick (Stewart's parts came from his company), they will sweep all this under the rug.

NHL realignment was approved yesterday, turning the league from two conferences of 15 to four conferences (two with 8 and two with 7). Honestly, I don't like it. For one, travel periods will be longer. Two, it still doesn't fix the Columbus in the Western Conference error (the original plan was to have Columbus or Detroit and Winnipeg trade conferences). And three, the Western side is now sixteen teams and the Eastern side is fourteen teams. Yes, the exact same problem that Major League Baseball had until now.

Obviously, the players don't like it but the owners do.

The new alignment (the conferences are unnamed at the moment by I expect them to become Pacific, Central, Atlantic and Southeast).

Conference "A"
Anaheim
Calgary
Colorado
Edmonton
Los Angeles
Phoenix
San Jose
Vancouver

Conference "B"
Chicago
Columbus
Dallas
Detroit
Minnesota
Nashville
St. Louis
Winnipeg

Conference "C"
Boston
Buffalo
Florida
Montreal
Ottawa
Tampa Bay
Toronto

Conference "D"
Carolina
New Jersey
New York Islanders
New York Rangers
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Washington

Sportsnet.ca is speculating that the NHL realignment was done to allow for an expansion to 32 teams. With some teams struggling (such as almost every Southern team), I find this unlikely but the four cities they mentioned most likely to get NHL teams were Quebec City, Kansas City, Houston and Las Vegas,

The college basketball season is in full force as conference play in the major conferences is nearing a start. Here are the remaining unbeaten teams in college basketball:

Big 12
#9 Missouri (12-0)
#6 Baylor (11-0)

Big East
#1 Syracuse (13-0)
#4 Louisville (11-0)

Big Ten
#17 Indiana (12-0)

Ohio Valley
#22 Murray State (13-0)

Of these six teams, two of them (Missouri and Indiana) have coaches in their first years at the school.

Indiana hired Tom Crean from Marquette three years ago after Ralph Sampson's (second) recruiting scandal. After that hiring I knew they'd be good eventually, but it'd take time after the violations. Cody Zeller has helped a lot.

It was three years ago? For some reason, I was thinking he was a first-year coach (seeing that he's been mentioned with Haith a lot on coaches that no one expected to start so well).

By the way, I wonder what the record is for the most consecutive wins for a coach in his first season with a team. Frank Haith's 12-0 start has to be somewhere near the top.
