leestu/Buscemi
Queen, “Bohemian Rhapsody”
(1975) (also becs' #55, Geezer's #55, Ron Burgundy's #43 and transformers' #9)
oh dear, six times. I would not say it's that good but to each his own. so des this song win the 'most represented' award?

Shrykespeare
Lush, “Sweetness and Light”
(1990)
awesome description for a song. it didn't speak to me like it does to you. but I can definitely appreciate what the song means to you. good stuff.

NSpan
The Velvet Underground, “Pale Blue Eyes

maybe i'm just bugging and had read this post before, but Iw as pretty sure someone else had posted this song as well. I don't really remember any of the other Vu songs posted and I don't think I enjoyed them. I really liked this one though. it really struck a chord this time. Will go on my list to download.

Numbersix
The Clash, “London Calling”
(1979) (also transformers' #72 and Geezer's #66)
i guess third time's the charm. it didn't really catch on the first two times (i think, it's been a while). but i was definitely hearing the 'catchy' part right now.

Geezer
Nirvana, “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
(also W's #23, BarcaRulz's #4 and becs' #4)
not again....

becs
R.E.M., “Everybody Hurts”
(also englishozzy's #48, BarcaRulz's #22 and leestu's #6)
again, from all the REM songs everyones posted this is my favorite by far. It's interesting how many songs overlapped with everyone.(well except for mine)

silversurfer
Smashing Pumpkins, “Today”

Isn't it great what some songs can mean to you. I feel like your letting us into something special by sharing these kind of songs. To be honest, i wanted to like (i want to like a lot of songs, specially those that mean a lot to anybody) but unfortunately i didn't connect with it on any level. Thanks for sharing though.

transformers
Mastodon, “Iron Tusk”

i think i can effectively say that i'm not a fan of Mastadon.

W
Cream, “Crossroads”

Definitely heard this song before, but I never knew who it was. Thanks for letting me know.

englishozzy
Rise Against, “Ready to Fall”

From all the bands that we've listened to, I think these guys make me cringe the most. Even more so than Tranny's metal picks. sorry

BarcaRulz
Oasis, “Wonderwall”
(also englishozzy's #37, Buscemi's #33 and Ron Burgundy's #13)
it's not awful, but I don't exactly share the love everybody else does. Honestly it sounds a bit garage band.

Ron Burgundy
Faith No More, “Evidence”

it was suave, i'll give you that (i'm sure the video helped). but really, truly not my style. Not something I would ever look up and in a weird way it reminded me of a boy band song with out the back up dancer/singers/

Chienfantome
U2, “With or Without You”

i enjoyed it. More than any other U2 song posted so far.

Frendo
Alice In Chains, “Man in the Box”
(also Ron Burgundy's #62)
not my thing, but I wasn't really turned off by it either. Dont remember it from the first time.

Shrykespeare
Peter Gabriel, “Secret World (Live)”
(originally recorded in 1992, done live in 1994)
loved it. The interlude was a bit long, but i'm sure it's just beacuse I wasn't really in the mood for it. haha, and the exit was pretty cool

NSpan
The Beatles, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”
(also W's #11)
I've never heard this version before. To be honest it sounds 'emptier' than the other version, but you know it actually works for the song. Ultimately I don't think I would take this version of over the other, but it was still nice and interesting to hear it.

Numbersix
Joy Division, “Transmission”
(1979)
I can't say I liked it, but it was interesting and different to listen to

Geezer
Queen and David Bowie, “Under Pressure”
(also leestu's #17)
nice song but don't really see what's so great about it though. When or how did you get introduced to this song?

becs
Radiohead, “Karma Police”
(also Ron Burgundy's #38)
can't say I like this one more than some of the other radiohead songs we've heard on the countdown, but still not bad. why exactly is this your absolute favorite music video of all time? just curious

leestu
David Bowie, “Space Oddity”
(1969) (also Chienfantome's #36 and becs' #26)
lol, I just can't get Chandler from Friends out of my head when hearing this song, (i really really tried, as this is the third time i've heard it) and in turn it sounds really cheesy to me. but i'm glad you and all the others can enjoy it.

Buscemi
The Beatles, “Strawberry Fields Forever”

Interesting choice, I definitely wouldn't pick it to represent them or get someone hooked on them, but it's still an alright song, and i think it fits you too

silversurfer
The Undertones, “Teenage Kicks”

you know i've listened to this a few times already a listened to it once a few weeks back before i got busy and I've listened to it twice now. There's something about it that makes me want to love it. but It's not quite there, there's something in there that's keeping me back. maybe the vocal, hmmm who knows. still a pretty good song though

transformers
Iron Maiden, “The Trooper”

I didn't hate it, I think that makes like 3 or 4 of your metal songs that i could actually stand. or you're just wearing me down.

W
Kris Kristofferson/Johnny Cash, “Sunday Morning Coming Down”

he's does look a bit like jeff bridges. The song was a bit slow for me to be honest, but it might just be the mood i'm in

englishozzy
Green Day, “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”
(also W's #40)
not being a green day fan, i must say this is probably the best they have to offer. heh, and i've never thought of what should be my funeral song. hopefully i wont have to for a while

BarcaRulz
Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”

very catchy. i want to go download it right now. makes me want to go camping....

Ron Burgundy
Passion Pit, “Little Secrets”

sounds... interesting. I've heard a few passion pit songs, but they've never really caught my attention. It's not bad and I liked the chorus though. and to be honest the song got better the farther it got. I'll have to listen to it a few more times....

Chienfantome
Jeff Buckley, “Hallelujah”
(also leestu's #99, numbersix's #25 and undeadmonkey's #6)
amazingness!! I don't think i'll ever get tired of it

Frendo
Nirvana, “Pennyroyal Tea”

you know how i feel about Nirvana.

yea, finally get to join you guys on the number one thread
