Barenaked Ladies, Too Little Too Late (2001) (not one of their top songs for me, but I love the BNL too)
Laura Marling, Salinas (2011) (Crazy this is a modern song, sounds really 70's. Not bad)

Love It

Meh
Alain Souchon, La vie ne vaut rien (2001)
Arctic Monkeys, Fake Tales Of San Francisco (2006) (I too have been to San Francisco and can confirm that it is awesome. This song not so much.)
Pond, Don’t Look At The Sun Or You’ll Go Blind (2009)
XTC, Wounded Horse (2000)
Hilltop Hoods, Nosebleed Section (2003) (It wouldn't play but I can imagine it goes here based on the description)
Cassie, Me And U (2005)
Wilco, Radio Cure (2002)
Every Time I Die, Partying is Such Sweet Sorrow (2012) (I'll say this had potential, and the lyrics are good, I just don't think his screaming really fit)

Loathe It

Rex Orange County, Loving Is Easy (2017) (not bad Ron, not bad at all)
fun. feat. Janelle Monae, We Are Young (2011) (This got way too overplayed when it came out, but listening to it now reminded me that it really is a good song)
Lana Del Rey, California (2019) (really decent for a pop song)

Love It

Meh
Beirut, Postcards from Italy (2006)
Vampire Weekend, M79 (2008)
Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Gentleman (2010)
Spoon, Everything Hits at Once (2001)
The Mars Volta, Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus (2005) (I won't hate on their talent or even their sound, but this should be 4 different songs. At least.)

Loathe It
Peter Gabriel, Growing Up (2003)
Solange, Losing You (2012)

Like It
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dani California (2006) (I SHOULD like the Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot more than I do. They fit the same genre of a lot of stuff I do like, but damn it if I just can't connect to it like I should. This song isn't bad though)
Idles, 1049 Gotho (2017) (The vocals are a little on the rough side for me, but musically and lyrically this is fucking great)

Love It
Faker, Hurricane (2005) (Now you're speaking my language! Right on!)
Ezra Furman, 'Suck The Blood From My Wound' (2018) (Damn two new songs this round that I adored, and almost three with Six's pick. This was both familiar and different at the same time, and I really, really liked it.)

Meh
Asaf Avidan, Reckoning Song (One Day) (2008) (There was potential here I just really didn't like the whiny tone of his voice)
Goldfrapp, Ooh La La (2005) (I much preferred Ida Maria)
The Rapture, Whoo Alright Yeah Uh Huh (2006) (I liked it at first but I got bored about 2 minutes in)
Disclosure ft. London Grammer, Help Me Lose My Mind (2013)
Erasure, Solsbury Hill (2003) (Its just kinda jarring hearing a different version of a song that is so familiar)
Converge, Dark Horse (2009) (some seriously impressive guitar work before I had to shut it off due to the vocals)

Like It
The Apparitions, God Monkey Robot (2006) (It was definitely weird, but in a good way)
The Bright Light Social Hour, Detroit (2010) (this was really nice, bluesy rock and roll. Don't think I'd seek them out but it was a good listen)
Chromeo, Jealous (I Ain't With It) (2014) (That was catchy as fuck, Screen. One of your better picks, from my perspective)
Big Thief, Shark Smile (2017) (Yeah really good lyrically, I can see why it meant a lot to you)

Love It
Hobo Johnson, Typical Story (2019) (Wow this was a breath of fucking air. I can tell you right now I'm DEFINITELY listening to this whole album at some point. Holy shit that might be the best thing I've heard this countdown.)

Meh
Tom Rosenthal, Go Solo (2014) (not bad, not something I'd seek though)
Holy Holy, Teach Me About Dying (2019) (not bad, not something I'd seek though)
Hot Chip, Over and Over (2006)
The Weeknd, House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls (2011)

Loathe It
Eminem, Without Me (2002) (sorry man, just not an eminem fan)

Ellie Goulding, Lights (2009) (not bad for a catchy pop song)
Disturbed, Stricken (2005) (It's Disturbed, sounds just like every other Disturbed song. Not bad, not amazing)

Love It

Meh
Stromae, Tous les mêmes (2013)
Neko Case, Hold On, Hold On (2006)
Gold Connections, New Religion (2017) (not bad just a little slow and overlong for me. They really shoulda got to that end part sooner because it was great.)
Moldy Peaches, Steak for Chicken (2001) (just too weird for me)
David Lynch feat. Lykki Li, I’m Waiting Here (2013)

Loathe It
The Killers, The Man (2017) (I used to LOVE the Killers, but I stopped listening to them after Sam's Town. If this is what they've been up to lately, that was one of my better decisions)
Battles, Atlas (2007) (Sorry mate, couldn't even get through a minute of it)
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Harold's (2014) (I really can't listen to anything that leans so hard on the word “niggas”)
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude

Placebo, Running Up that Hill (2007) (I like this version. Also a big fan of Pure Morning from them)

Love It
Ben Folds, Rockin’ The Suburbs (2001) (This is not what I'm used to from Ben Folds, but I love it! Really fun. We have a really similar musical philosophy, certainly closer than anyone else participating in this countdown)
Modest Mouse, Float On (2004) (Holy shit Six posted a song that is, dare I say it, fun! The first Modest Mouse song I ever heard, but they were all the range among the indie fans back in high school. Still the only one I ever truly enjoyed, but at least its something!)
Waxahatchee, Swan Dive (2015) (New and definitely one I'll explore further. A very Surfer song)

Meh
Sigur Ros, Inni Mer Syngur Vitleysingur (2008)
Belle & Sebastian, Your Cover's Blown (2004)
Gram Rabbit, Horses Can't Throw Up (2010) (I like the music, didn't like the vocals)
Sophie Ellis-Baxter, Murder On The Dance Floor (2000)

Loathe It

Kendrick Lamar, The Blacker the Berry (2015) (never heard a track by this guy I have even remotely enjoyed)
Revocation, Pestilence Reigns (2009) (Three seconds! I think that's a new record!)
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude

Like It

Love It
Editors, Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors (2007) (Got this right, and really loved it. Had it pegged for either Chien or JohnE, got it right)
Screaming Females, Electric Pilgrim (2006) (Mentioned them in my response to John noting some female fronted bands I enjoy. They are so fucking fun live, that a recorded version of any of their stuff doesn't even do it justice. She fucking SHREDS. Just mesmerizing to watch on stage. Honestly this is the only one I thought anyone would guess for me, if not SOAD, which I didn't think would be hard to identify)

Meh
Ariana Grande, Into You (2016) (yup, I too assigned this to Screen)
Trent Reznor And Atticus Ross feat. Karen O, Immigrant Song (2011) (gave this to JohnE because nothing else seemed to fit him)
Bat For Lashes - What's A Girl To Do? (2006) (Yup, could have been any number of players, but I guessed Ron. Had I gotten his right, maybe I would have gotten this one too)
Paramore, Misery Business (2007) (Yeah this never really moved the needle for me. Hayley was pretty hot though, I'll give them that. Easy guess as your stuff is usually the most radio friendly)
Cage The Elephant, Rubber Ball (2011) (not my cup of tea, but I did get it right. Might have guessed Surfer if I wasn't locked into him with SF)

Loathe It
Life Without Buildings, The Leanover (2001) (I guessed this was Six because I fucking hated it)
Kendrick Lamar, “HUMBLE” (2017) (When I should have guessed that this was Six, because I fucking hated it)
The Avalanches, Frontier Psychiatrist (2000) (I guessed this for Nspan because it seemed like his type of sampling, but Ron was definitely my second choice)
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude

Some cross overs here, and a couple gems too!
And damn, I sucked at reading the mystery round, a couple of curveballs and that ruined it for me

CHIEN
Tom Rosenthal, Go Solo (2014)
FL2. Mind a quick explantion on Spleen? (What is it, why you like it, why use the word!) This was decent though. 5.5/10
Stromae, Tous les mêmes (2013)
FL. Its very latino pop sounding, but how can you not like the horns...5.5/10
Sigur Ros, Inni Mer Syngur Vitleysingur (2008)
I remember when this came out, i too thought it was Icelandic for a fair bit. Good song though. 6/10
Editors, Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors (2007)
Like somone else here, i remember this song as something that could have been Interpol. Still, i like it. 6/10

GEEZER
Against Me!, Walking Is Still Honest (2002)
FL. Yeah, nah. 2/10
Chumped, Eleanor (2013)
FL. We do have wildly different tastes, which is ok, just don't drag me to a concert if i visit Boston ;) 3/10
Off With Their Heads, Die Today (2006)
FL. This does nothing for me or my rainbows and kittens, which i don't have. Just cause i don't like 'sad angry' music doesnt mean im super happy all the time, but i dont really like music with the words 'i just wanna...die today'. Depressing stuff. 2/10
System of a Down, Toxicity (2001)
Up there with the best stuff from SOAD. Nice one mate. 7.5/10

JOHNERLE
The Apparitions, God Monkey Robot (2006)
FL. Not bad at all, sounded a bit like the Strokes, minus the singer. 5.5/10
Neko Case, Hold On, Hold On (2006)
Ah, the now famous Neko. Its a good song. 6/10
Belle & Sebastian, Your Cover's Blown (2004)
FL2. I got into this, nice. 6.5/10
Bat For Lashes - What's A Girl To Do? (2006)
I really liked revisiting this after so long, its real good! 7/10

LEESTU
Hobo Johnson, Typical Story (2019)
At first i didn't recognise it, but i have heard this. Def something i'd listen to again. 6.5/10
Gold Connections, New Religion (2017)
FL2. Def needs a couple listens, as that slow build up does get better. Nice. 6.5/10
Ben Folds, Rockin’ The Suburbs (2001)
Not something i would turn down, actually might turn it up. 6.5/10
Cage The Elephant, Rubber Ball (2011)
FL. This one completely threw me, i thought it was six or surf. Not a fan of the song. 3.5/10

NSPAN
The Bright Light Social Hour, Detroit (2010)
FL. This was pretty funky, groovy baby. 6/10
Moldy Peaches, Steak for Chicken (2001)
FL2. Very amusing, i like. 6.5/10
Gram Rabbit, Horses Can't Throw Up (2010)
FL. Nice fast pace, not bad. 6/10
Life Without Buildings, The Leanover (2001)
FL. Kept waiting for the song to change. I didn't like it to be polite. 1.5/10

SCREEN203
Chromeo, Jealous (I Ain't With It) (2014)
FL. Very radio friendly, which i might love sometimes, this was was a bit meh. 4.5/10
Ellie Goulding, Lights (2009)
Its a bit crazy this is 8 years old. Damn, time flies...5.5/10
Sophie Ellis-Baxter, Murder On The Dance Floor (2000)
Ohh, even when i was 12 when this was released, it didn't grab me. 3/10
Trent Reznor And Atticus Ross feat. Karen O, Immigrant Song (2011)
Its ok, i like the original more. 4.5/10

SHRYKE
Eminem, Without Me (2002)
Yeah, i love this! 9/10
Disturbed, Stricken (2005)
I didn't mind it back in '05, but not so much these days. 4/10
Placebo, Running Up that Hill (2007)
I kinda like it. 6/10
Paramore, Misery Business (2007)
I was convinced the was Geezers pick. Dammit! 4/10

SIX
Hot Chip, Over and Over (2006)
I considered this for my list but it doesnt give me the same feeling as when it came out, still very good though. 7/10
David Lynch feat. Lykki Li, I’m Waiting Here (2013)
FL2. I tried a 2nd time, but couldn't really get into it. 4.5/10
Modest Mouse, Float On (2004)
Love this, awesome choice dude! 9.5/10
Kendrick Lamar, “HUMBLE” (2017)
I should have guessed this was you, but you said much later. Guessing you have another Kendrick song coming up. 5/10

SURFER
Big Thief, Shark Smile (2017)
FL. Nice, low key but not without rhythm. 6/10
Battles, Atlas (2007)
I totally forgot about this song, its excellent! 8/10
Waxahatchee, Swan Dive (2015)
FL. Its ok at best. 4/10
Screaming Females, Electric Pilgrim (2006)
FL. Did not enjoy this. 2/10

TRANSFORMERS
The Weeknd, House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls (2011)
FL. I like a few of The Weeknd's songs, but hadn't heard this before, its pretty good. Like it how halfway it changes gears. 6.5/10
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Harold's (2014)
FL2. Def gotta be in the mood, but right now, i dig it. 6/10
Revocation, Pestilence Reigns (2009)
FL. I like the guitar and the drums, but i hate the vocals. 3.5/10
Ariana Grande, Into You (2016)
Still can hardly believe that you like this when you like stuff like Revocation. 4.5/10
