I could only listen to the Mount Eerie album once...too depressing. But I've been recommending it to my family and friends as truly an album they should listen to once, it's just that I won't listen to it again with them. Amazing...but not what I choose to listen to albums for so not in my top ten "favourites".
Oh Sees do it again, just keep releasing great albums. Two this year with Orc and Memoy Of A Cut Off Head. Very different from each other. I just wish they would sort out their identity crisis. Awesome song!

numbersix wrote:Leets, it was you who introduced me tko King Gizzard. Really like them. I got Flying Microtonal Banana, which I enjoyed, but it's intimidating to get into a band who released 4 albums this year alone!
There's still one week of 2017 left! lol
And not to mention their back catalogue of 8 albums before this year, some of which are really worth checking out (Quarters, Float Along, Paper Mache Dream Balloon, and I'm In Your Mind Fuzz just to mention a few).

I haven't had enough time lately over this busy Christmas period to have a decent you tube listening session since the last one but of what I already know, I love the Idles album. It's such brutal music. Made my top 25 of the year, just so many great albums. Haven't heard the Mount Kimbie album except for the song with King Krule on guest vocals which I like a lot but probably more due to King Krule than Mount Kimbie. Snap on LCD Soundsystem. Probably the only album we'll have in common and same placement at that. The Priests album was decent, but I only listened to it a few times, and I love the Thurston Moore song. Everything else is new to me although I have heard Downtown Boys before just not their latest album.

Ugh! Damn, Six! Have you got your lists confused? We're not doing most over rated albums.
TPAB was quite good but I did not like this album at all. Even his half finished sounding Untitled, Unmastered was better than this. There is nothing on this album that compares to the incredible King Kunta. I appreciate that he is trying to send a message to those that need to hear it by writing music that appeals to that audience but damn, Humble is an obnoxious song. I'm disappointed that it is predicted to top the Triple J hottest 100 this year. Loyalty is dull. In fact I don't think I enjoyed any of the songs in this album. And no, U2 are still not cool, and despite what the critics have been trying to tell us for a couple of years, neither is Rihanna. I would rather listen to Joey Badass, Vince Staples, or Run The Jewels to name a few. And in terms of protest rap AB Original have made the best protest rap album of recent years. A slept on album, but not under rated by those that have listened to it.It might be protesting the treatment and issues of Indigenous Australians so have little relatability to those outside Australia (although justice, fairness, education, and tolerance are universal concepts) but damn it's powerful and important, and despite the subject matter, an entertaining listen. Sorry, rant over now.
