Melissa Villasenor, 23. Talent: comedienne/impressionist/singer. Very good, spot on impressionist. Like to see more.

Zuma Zuma, 28-42. Talent: acrobats/tumblers from Kenya. My gf thinks they can win. I was very impressed. By far the best tumbling act I've ever seen.

Poplyfe, 12-16. Talent: ethnically diverse teen band, five boys and one girl. I like that she stood by her band. Showed some real attitude, which is great for her age. Very talented, and she sold her next act VERY well. Looking forward to more.

The Daring Jones Duo, 31 and 35. Talent: aerial artists. I'm so over these acts.

Sadie, 8. Talent: singer. I freaking hate SCAT. As soon as she started scatting I stopped caring.

The Elektrolytes, 20-26. Talent: hip-hop dance crew. I don't remember them.

Mauricio Herrera, 33. Talent: singer/dancer. He'll be one of the immediate cuts in Vegas.

Watching the next two episodes now.

?\The Rhinestone Ropers, 28 and 52. Talent: knife throwing and trick shooting. Very cool, but how much more can they do???

Mona Lisa, 29. Talent: twin sisters/singers. Meh, not for me.

Charles Peachock, 35. Talent: glow-in-the-dark juggling act. YES, everyone IS going to rip off Fighting Gravity, because look how far they went! They are only going to take 1 juggler to the top 40, I liked the other one better.

Purrfect Angelz, 22-36. Talent: Sexy dancers. They won't go far, despite being hot.

Daniel Joseph Baker, 19. Talent: singer/musician. I honestly didn't think his voice was all that great. Maybe he'll grow on me.

Sandou Trio Russian Bar, 25-43. Talent: acrobatic act. A-MA-ZING. Loved every second of it.

Dani Shay, 22. Talent: singer/comedienne. I couldn't have shifted an opinion on an act faster after she started singing. Anyone that makes fun of that little toad is awesome in my book. Loved her.

LD Dance Company, 20-29. Talent: dance troupe. So their talent is booty shaking? Yeah not gonna cut it for this show.

Lil' T, 6. Talent: dancer. I preferred the SH'Boss boys, personally, but certainly cute. I don't know how far he goes, but he's definitely got a future in the industry when he grows up. He's already very talented. A 6-year old with a girlfriend, really? Parents these days.
Pimp spot:

Darren "Professor Splash" Taylor, 50. Talent: high diver. It was impressive, but I totally agree with your assessment. If he did other dangerous things, not just the high dive, then he could go far. But just moving it up higher isn't impressive to me. It will be old by the second jump. I doubt he goes anywhere past the top 40.

I've gotta say, I was watching The Soup last night and it showed the clip of Lil' T. I was mortified at how everyone was laughing and enjoying his 'performance', which consisted of girating and thrusting his hips. Now I'm no prude, but man, that was just wrong. There's no way I'd want my kid doing those moves, especially on live TV. It was totally inappropriate and didn't really suggest he had any real 'talent' beyond it. And to see the audience applauding it, man that's even worse. Some parents have no self respect or even respect their own kids. And to top it off he has a girlfriend? At 6!! Man, maybe I'm old before my time...

Echo of Animal Gardens, 15 and 32. Talent: talking bird act. Exactly like you said, only one bird act will go through. I think I liked this one better. The bird was better.

Mrs. Smith, 56. Talent: rock guitarist. Meh, I'm still not even convinced this wasn't a man. Don't know why they put "it" through. No way she goes top 40.

St. Lukes Bottle Band, 32-67. I'm not so sure, Shryke. If they can scale it up, I think it could be better and a top 40 potential. But they have to bring it.

The Halls of Magic, 50 and 56. Talent: magicians. I really enjoyed the brief trick we got to see. I love that they arent the same as all the other musicians, making it more comical than flashy. And they look normal, not the glamour girl type thing. Its different. The magical chops will have to hold up to the comedy to get far though.

Lys Agnes, 27. Talent: opera singer. I agree, I was expecting a soul singer, not opera, but I'm so glad she didn't suck, because she's got a great story, and I'm a sucker for a great story. You're right, definitely a top contender.

Viva La Muerte, 28. Talent: midget striptease/comedienne. I didn't hate it, I thought it was fun, but yeah, she'll get cut in Vegas, might not even get to audition. But maybe she'll find a job elsewhere, if ya know what I mean.

Those Funny Little People, 23-53. Talent: group of singer/dancer/comedians dressed in giant-head gnome outfits. This might have been my favorite act of the entire competition so far! So funny! I absolutely loved every second and I can't wait to see them again!

Silhouettes, 9-18. Talent: huge dance troupe using their movements and bodies to tell a story by using silhouettes behind huge screens. i haven't been so awestruck, so jaw-dropping, so absolutely dazzled by anything like the silhouettes since the first time i heard jackie, that was absolutely fucking amazing and i hope they win the whole damn thing. I was completely mesmerized. I would absolutely pay to watch that for an hour. I watched it twice with my jaw hung open both times. If they don't make the top 10, there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with America.

The Kinetic King, 47. Talent: kinetic effects artist. Tough to describe. I loved this guy! And I absolutely loved what he told the judges he'd do with the money! His act was cool, but I have a feeling we haven't seen anything yet. Or at least I hope so, because I want to see more of him.

I kinda agree with Surfer here, but I mean, if he wants to have a career in dancing, he's doing it the right way. We do love our gyrations over here in the States.

I seriously doubt that Lil' T even understands the sexual significance of what he is doing, I'm sure he's watched others dance that way in music videos and such. As for having a GF, I think it's adorable. I bet for him, a girl you love is just someone you enjoy eating ice cream with.

No doubt he doesn't have a clue what the actions insinuate, but i wouldn't want my kid performing them, just as i wouldn't applaud it. The must think the actions he is performing is okay with the response he gets, and I think i'sends a bad message. It's the same as when you see little girls walking around with 'Slut' or 'Future Porn Star' on their T Shirts. Í just think it totally takes the innocence away from kids nowadays. Maybe I'm just over reacting, but I think a line needs to be drawn with kids so that they stay kids while they still are.

Well, it could also be that he chose to do hip-hop (along with the worm, the robot, etc.), just to get the crowd going. It is, if you think about it, the most popular current form of dancing that one can do without the use of a partner. If he can demonstrate that he can dance in other areas and show actual skill rather than gyrations and gestures, he might have a chance to go far. I want to see if he has that ability before I send him to be deprogrammed.

That's what ends up doing in most child acts on this show... a lack of depth or experience. Only the truly special ones (like Jackie Evancho) really have the potential to become superstars.

Weird that they would split the two days of Seattle auditions over two weeks, but whatever. Tonight's auditions had to be better than last weeks, which produced only one or two acts that even approached "good".

This episode was only an hour, but why did we have to get 20 minutes of suckitude to start off the show? At least it got better in the latter 2/3.

(MORE) SEATTLE AUDITIONS

Geechy Guy, 46. Talent: comedian. I have actually HEARD of this guy, he's been doing standup forever (I even remember his "modeling career" joke.) He usued to have crazy hair and a crazier wardrobe, but he's still got the same slouch. And he's still funny. I'm not sure I love his machine-gun delivery, but he's hysterical. I don't think I'd choose him over Melissa Villasenor, but I hope he makes it. Why'd it take over 20 minutes to get to him? Prediction: maybe Top 40, but only if the judges are in the mood for two comedians, assuming there aren't more to come.

Illumi Men's Chorale, 23-49 Talent: all-male a capella choral group. Turning Britney Spears into operetta? That takes balls. I'll need to see more, however. Prediction: possibly Top 40, but the jury's still out.

Soleil Rousseau, 20. Talent: Pole dancer. Um... okay. Aside from the obvious strip-club connotations, she's really cute, and hopefully she can turn this talent into something PG-rated. Not a Vegas act, though. Prediction: I'm not sure how much more there is to this act, so she'll be cut in Vegas.

Seth Grabel, 29 Talent: magician. I wish I'd seen his audition in its entirety, because that was awesome. Like Michael Grasso with a comedic flair. I loved it! Prediction: of the four magicians to make it so far, I think he could go the fartherst, but probably not past Top 20 unless he ups his game.

The BGP, 28-30. Talent: rock band trio. They're good looking guys, they're dads, what's not to love? The lead signer's got a very good voice, but is it great? I'm not convinced. Prediction: Top 20, but that's a stretch.

The Art of Teknique, 8-10. Talent: three-boy hip-hop dance crew. Good news, surfer... not one even remotely obscene dance move from this bunch. They were terrific, in synch, and, on top of that, well-mannered and well-dressed. They are even more talented than they are cute, which is saying something. They could go far, with a little more polish. They definitely got mad skillz. Prediction: can both AoT and the SH'Boss Boys make the Top 20? That's tough to picture. But it could happen. I doubt more than one of them will make Top 10.

You had to have cracked up laughing at Nick's faux-weeping during the last audition. Is he the perfectd host for this show or what?

There probably was a show scheduled for Wednesday, but with the Stanley Cup finals going seven, it will be preempted. Who knew that would happen? (I'm keeping mum on who I'm rooting for, Geez, as I think I can guess who you are behind...)

Next week: don't know where they're going, but it looks like the show will feature this year's Bianca Ryan.

I'll get videos up of a couple of these acts when they become available.

Seth Grabel and the three little kids are really the only ones that are worth talking about. I missed the first half of the show and from what you said, I'm not even going to go back and watch it! But I did love those kids!

Now that the Cup Finals are over, Geez, I expect prompter replies from you! (Just kidding, kind of.)

Jeez, the order they're televising the auditions in this year is beyond weird. Oh well, I guess in the end, it doesn't really matter where everybody came from, huh?

ATLANTA AUDITIONS (Part 2)

Hershae Chocolatae, 31. Talent: drag queen/singer/dancer. There's seems to be one every season, isn't there? I still have nightmares about "Boy Shakira" from a few years ago. He/she is a passable dancer, but his/her Macy Gray impersonation sucked. Prediction: cut in Vegas, I hope. This is a red-light district act, not a Vegas show.

Summerwind Skippers, 22-26. Talent: trick jump-ropers. Well, it's a different take on a tumbling act, but for me to be impressed, they'd have to be a lot more dangerous. Maybe if they added fire somehow?... Prediction: Top 40 if they're very, very good in Vegas.

The Fiddleheads, 21-23. Talent: bluegrass band. Hard to gauge them after only 20 seconds of film, but the lead singer seem's to have a good voice. I'll reserve judgment until I hear more. Prediction: none.

DJ Face, 6. Talent: DJ mixer. Boy, the six-to-ten-year-olds are taking over, aren't they! I won't pretend to know just how much talent it takes to do what he does, but this is one kid act that I just can't stack up against the others. Prediction: cut in Vegas. I'm sure he's got a great career ahead of him, though.

Attack Dance Crew, 19-25. Talent: eight-man dance crew. They're a great story, with their attitude towards education. I have to admit, I'd never heard of "drilling" before, but it was pretty cool. I'm not sure these guys are that much better than other dance crews we've seen, but I look forward to seeing them try to stand out. Prediction: possibly Top 20.

Captain & Maybell, 38 and 32. Talent: sharp-object-swallower and his wife-sistant. The judges may not have the stomach to watch this, but you have to admit, it's pretty damn cool in a train-wreck kind of way. That takes talent. You need a strong stomach to watch it, but hey, a lot of Vegas shows are like that. Prediction: Top 40. Past that is pushing it, because I don't think the viewers will vote for it.

Necessary Diva, 40. Talent: operatic body-builder? Um, okay. Not quite sure where this act is going... She's got some pipes, but compared to Lys Agnes, she doesn't hold a candle. Prediction: cut in Vegas.

Pimp spot:

Anna Graceman, 11. Talent: singer/musician. This year's Jackie Evancho? Not quite. But she would appear to be this season's Bianca Ryan for sure. Great voice, great piano player, adorable as hell, but still very raw. If she has the stamina and keeps her head screwed on straight, she has a definite shot at winning. Prediction: Top 5 maybe, Top 10 definitely.

Tomorrow: two hours of New York auditions.

Often times, Shryke, I am watching the Sox game as is my normal nightly routine, I'll look up at the clock and say "Oh shit, it's 8:30 already" and I've missed half the show. That happened again last night, so again, I'm gonna have to get caught up on the internet.
