Very little is better than The Wire. I always feel uncomfortable about calling it a cop or crime show. Yes, it deals with crime, but it deals with so much more, from education to the media to government mechanisms. Comparing it to the likes of CSI or Law and Order is almost insulting to The Wire

Yes, it was awesome and one of my favorites. I wished they would have shown a futurized episode after he saw The Empire Strikes Back.

In an odd coincidence, I just realized that the front-man to one of my favorite bands has a direct connection to the Wire. Jason Simon, lead singer/guitarist of Dead Meadow, is the nephew of the show's creator. Going to see him play here in L.A. tomorrow, and then again in Joshua Tree on Saturday. Turns out some of their music has been featured in episodes.

Survivor was pretty bland. Other than that, nothing looked too good. Sunday, Monday, Thursday seems to be where it's at.

I used to work at a restaurant called Survivor's. One time some people eating there requested I switch the TV from sports to Survivor, and once I did that, the Destiny's Child song Survivor started playing on the music channel we had on. Weird coincidences.

Louie and Wilfred both had great seasons. Curb was good, but its seen better days. I thought it was amusing when they first recycled Seinfeld jokes--but it hit a tipping point in the latter-half of this season. Children's Hospital is still going strong. Season 3 of Archer is off to a good start. Looking forward to new seasons of Community, Tosh.0, Delocated, and South Park (I have no idea how they're going to approach the cliffhanger they left off on). 30 Rock has run its course, but I'll still watch it. I hope Jon Benjamin has a Van comes back with a stronger second season. Every time I think Parks & Rec has lost its stride, they come along with a great episode. We'll see what happens. I love the addition of Adam Scott.

Unless I'm forgetting something, that's just about everything on TV that interests me. Besides Conan, of course.

You can tell that Survivor is desperate for ratings since they decided to bring Russell Hantz's cousin into the new edition. I imagine that the camera is always focused on him and no one else.

Nephew, but yeah, him and there are two other people that have played twice each before. One's pretty much insane and the other is an athletic freak. And I'd say every show on a major network is desperate for ratings. I mostly watch it because each season is a different sociological experiment.

The original series is on IFC right now (as they decay into a "mainstream horror film and cult series" network, basically a high-brow version of SyFy).

One thing I really like about the series is that, after the first episode, they don't really bother re-explaining the premise. There's no intro or theme song that sums it up. It just dives right in and expects you to be caught up.
