I was initially confused by it but actually relieved, as I hated that character. Not only because it looks like he's going to have a fling with my Khalessi, but I hated the way he acted. Far too smug and annoying. At least this new actor plays it with a bit more restraint. What was the reason for recasting?

I'm not really sure why they recast. The guy from the books was very flambouyant (his forked beard was dyed blue, just for reference) and cocky...so the personality from the guy last year fit, if not the look, but the new guy looks like any other guy they have on the show...I don't get it.

I always worry that some viewers get lost with all the characters and story lines. For example, one of the guys sitting in judgment of Jon Snow was the guy Tyrion kicked out of Kings Landing. He was the one being the biggest jackass. He was the old commander of the City Watch...I had to pause and explain to my wife who he was and she still didn't get it. They could have referenced him in the "Previously on Game of Thrones" intro, but didn't. Kudos for getting the actor to come back after a couple years, but at least remind the viewers who the hell he is.

I also just saw the ratings were fucking awesome. That makes me happy.

I get nervous that the show is going to catch and pass Martin's writing though, and that the show will finish before he is done w/ the books. If they ever catch him I will have to stop watching the show until I read the last page. :(

Last night's GOT episode marked the first time that they showed something that might be a spoiler for events that haven't happened in the book yet...that last scene with the White Walkers is what I'm referring to...I think the internet almost broke with the outpouring of rage. At this point I'm just going to have to deal w/ the show ending before the books :(

Argh, shouldn't have read that as I haven't seen the episode yet, although it's not exactly a major spoiler. Surprised none of us have been talking about last week's episode. I loved it, although kinda wished they built anticipation for another episode or two first. Ah well, here's to more surprises this season...

Anyone watching Silicon Valley. Watched the first episode and really liked it. No huge laugh-out-loud moments but certainly a witty and very accurate depiction of that world. Mike Judge is so under-rated.

Sorry, I'll spoiler tag it...didn't really think it was a spoiler, but just in case :)

I'm surprised by Silicon Valley's positive reviews. I saw an ad for it a while back and it basically looked like The Big Bang Theory (a terrible show, by the way) for pay cable. Also, the ad made no mention of Judge's involvement (instead choosing to focus on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's producing jobs on the show).

Hah, no need Brock, it's not that important (far more important is making your 2 draft picks for the Full Year Draft. Get over there now!)

Boosch, not sure what the trailer was like, but Silicon Valley is not even remotely like The Big Bang Theory except they're both about socially awkward people. It would be like comparing Girls to Two Broke Girls.

Hmm, they must have been trying to sell it to the lowest common denominator (and prevent the viewership issues that Girls has had) then.

I saw the premiere of Silicon Valley and it was very amusing. Like six said, it's absolutely nothing like The Big Bang Theory.

I thought the last GoT ep was the best so far this season, so much to look forward to.

So, ive been watching a bit of TV here and there, heres a short summary:

House of Cards
Season one was so full of unforseen twists and turns, you can see what Kevin Spacey wants most of the time, but how he gets it is very intriguing to watch. With a bunch of big name directors involved; David Fincher, Joel Schumacher, Carl Franklin, James Foley, even Jodie Foster. Im not a huge fan of Politics, but i like skulduggery and backstabbing (in politics). House of Cards displays the transient relationships of the various ladder climbling socialists with different degrees of loyalty, honesty, retaliation and morals and mashes it up with the drive of one man to plow through anything thats gets in his way. Who else has seen this? Im starting season 2 tonight.

Rick and Morty
An absolute gem of a show. Layered with plot devices and criss-crossing multi dimensional storylines, its a funny show that takes what Family Guy has a mixes it with Regular Show and inserts all original and quite subtle humour. With minor pop culture references and storylines bent on magnifying existing themes its one of my favs almost instantly.

Regular Show
Mordacai and Rigby are two animals who try to please themselves, the hot girl, workmates and their boss in a park where they are handymen. Not as zany or outrageous as Rick and Morty, it still packs a lot of laughs. And its something i love to watch when i get home from work. Switch off brains, and enjoy.

Adventure Time
Sort of the same as above but with a different animation style, and a loose creative universe of all types of creatures and worlds imaginable. But targeted for younger audiences, i still get the odd chuckle out of this. Certainly wish im 11 when i watch this.

The League
Halfway through season 2, and i found a show thats pretty dam funny. If you dont know, its about a bunch of guys who create a fantasy football league, for some of them it rules their life who go the extra mile to get their fantasy draft picks perfect. I watched an ep one night late on TV with Timothy Olyphant as a guest, where i proceeded to attain Season 1 and 2, and its stuck. My type of humour, and i play fantasy sports too so its a good laugh

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Very good new show with Andy Samberg and Terry Crews. Better than scrubs, in the same world but with cops

House of Cards is wonderful, although I slightly preferred the 1st season over the 2nd.

I have to give Rick & Morty a chance, I assumed it was just another dumb Adult Swim show.

Yeah give Rick and Morty another chance. I tried to watch it late last year but didnt like because of Mortys voice. Not sure why that put me off the first time, but since finishing season 1, its gone into my top 5 current animated shows

1. South Park
2. American Dad
3. Aqua Teen Hunger Force
4. Rick and Morty
5. Archer
