I never even saw those movies. :)

Here is where I've seen its trailers:
Death At A Funeral (with a very small crowd and no reaction)
Grown Ups (in a half-full auditorium with no reaction)
Winter's Bone (in a full auditorium with maybe four people laughing)

Also, I've seen it several times in the theatre lobbies with indifferent reaction and some websites (such as IMDb, Box Office Mojo and Deadline) have have given pretty negative reviews towards the trailers.

Latest tracking at BOM and BOG has it at around $73 Mil opening. Thats good, and if it has good WOM it could easily do 300M

Is that tracking or estimates, Ron, because that's a huge difference.

$55ish M OW.
Apprentice is about $16.5 M OW.

Despicable Me should take second with $33ish M.

4. Twilight $14 M
5/6. Toy Story 3 or Grown-Ups $12 M

And High School Musical clone Standing Ovation will make less than $1 million. Who the hell thought it a good idea to open this against Inception?

Well it IS counterprogramming. It just had no marketing whatsoever.

And looks like a strong Saturday (which suggests good WOM) will see Inception making about 60 MIL for the weekend.
