Still no trailer for Butter... is that movie coming out in October or what?

Also missing trailers for Lincoln and Parental Guidance.

Parental Guidance is opening on Christmas (Box Office Mojo still has never updated the change) so there's still time for it.

And I wouldn't worry about Lincoln. Spielberg's had trailers out far later than three months before opening (Munich had its trailer released two weeks before opening).

New release date:

Jack Ryan 12/25/2013

Around the same time, Paramount is preparing an adaptation of Tom Clancy's Without Remorse (which will share a few actors). Expect a Summer 2014 date on that one.

In other news, Lionsgate has scheduled Barry Levinson's The Bay for 11/2/2012.

"Jack Ryan" one year after "Jack Reacher" ? Wanna bet Paramount will change the title if the Tom Cruise movie disappoints ?

Apparently Jack Reacher is to be renamed Jack Reacher: One Shot (I saw that on some entertainment site, I forget which one) so Jack Ryan will likely get a subtitle as well.

Depending on how limited they go (college campuses, sort of like Paranormal Activity did?), PP can now snag some PTA points. Although it might only open in third or perhaps fourth place (after Taken 2, Hotel Translyvania and Looper's second weekends), I'm guessing it'll top out around $50M, at $8 it's still a pretty good pick.

Pitch Perfect is the first film in quite some time aimed towards teen girls. With the studio comparing the test screening scores to American Pie and Bring It On (both word-of-mouth hits), we could see a $20 million opening and possibly a multiplier of 4.

As for the limited run, I'm expecting a New York/Los Angeles run. Aim it towards the musical crowd that made Mamma Mia a hit.
