Harry Styles tries for Oscar glory with My Policeman, hitting theatres on October 21st before debuting on Prime two weeks later.

Meanwhile, a new version of Jane Austen's Persuasion hits Netflix on July 15th. Should be a hit for them.

It looks like A24 is platforming Marcel the Shell with Shoes On on June 24th before expanding wide on July 15th.

Barbarian 8/31/22 (Disney is actually putting a 20th Century title that isn't a blockbuster in theaters!!!!)
The Fabelmans: 11/11/22 limited, 11/23/22 wide

While I'm glad they are releasing some smaller films in theaters, I'm kind of surprised by the decision. I really can't see it doing that well, especially with Salem's Lot opening just over a week later.

The thing I find amazing about Barbarian is that someone let the co-director of Miss March make another movie. Is this going to be for the three people that still remember The Whitest Kids U'Know?

Take a look at the poster or watch the trailer. It's not a comedy and nobody would know Kregger made it without looking it up first.

But in the end, will anyone care? I'm sure the end result will be just as bad as Miss March.

Miss March really stinks, so I'm pretty confident in its ability to clear that very low quality bar.

I'm wondering if Salem's Lot is getting pushed back. No trailer or poster less three months before opening.

My friend is a PA on the reshoots, so I actually have some inside intel on this: Warner has no intention of pushing it back. The reshoots are wrapping tonight and they shot for 6 straight days so they could make the planned September 9th release. There's also a trailer locked and loaded. They showed it at CinemaCon.

Was this a non-union shoot? Pretty sure there are rules with the guilds that don't allow you to film six days in a row.

It's definitely a union shoot. My buddy got the gig because he's on the overhire list for the Massachusetts union. six should be able to add some legitimate insight to this, but my guess is there are loopholes they can use to make crews for X number of days in a row or the crew knew it was a reshoot being executed on a tight window upfront and agreed to work for 6 straight days.

Even under union rules you can shoot 6 days in a row. It's very common to shoot 11-day fortnights - 5 days with 2 days off then 6 days with one day off.
