Boushh, you are doing journeyman's work, my friend, keeping us all up with the bevy (gaggle? murder? parliament) of changes that are being pooped out just now. My thanks, good sir. You will also note that I finally pulled the trigger on "Kursk", claiming "Everybody Knows" on the Waiver Wire. That was in no small part thanks to your counsel.

New date:

Us 3/22/2019 (from 3/15/2019)

Imagine all the refunds theatres are having to do now thanks to this (Universal should have never started selling tickets this early).

Apparently, Gambit's dead again. At this point, just make it a TV show.

Meanwhile, CBS is set to fold their film division once their last two productions (a Pavarotti biopic and a phone sex comedy from the directors of Bad Moms) finish up. Any future development will be with CBS All Access (I have a feeling we'll see a series based on the Vince Flynn books they optioned there).

That's not exactly shocking, i would wager all planned fox marvel films are dead.

I wouldn't be shocked if New Mutants or even Dark Phoenix would get dumped, maybe even pushed to Hulu, instead of spending marketing money on a franchise that will be no longer.

How did CBS Films stay open for as long as it has? Nearly every one of their films underperformed.

They're too big to push to Hulu. Putting them in theaters is a surefire $100 M each, probably closer to $150. They could be written off and used to launch the Disney service, though.

Dark Phoenix will certainly play in theatres. Too much money's been spent on it to turn back now and with it actually connected with the current series (though The Last Stand already did some of this story), Disney will still give it the standard big release.

New Mutants, on the other hand, just looks like another Fantastic Four (or whatever the hell it was actually called). I don't even think that could clear $100 million. Maybe dumping this one alongside that Adam Devine magic movie would be for the best.

Meanwhile in distributor news, Vertical has picked up The Professor and the Madman, which seems to be out of its legal trouble. A date for second quarter 2019 is planned (not sure if it will be day-and-date or if it goes semi-wide like Gotti did).

Sony is trying again with Ghostbusters. Jason Reitman has been hired to direct a new installment set in the original universe (it seems the events of the last film will be retconned) and Sony is shooting for a Summer 2020 release.

The animated Ghostbusters is supposed to come right after (possible Ghostbusters/Spider-Man crossover in the near future?).

Meanwhile, Neon will open Little Woods (the film that got its director hired for the new Candyman) on 4/19/2019. Seeing how this has promotional materials out and the scheduled for March The Beach Bum doesn't, could this mean a delay for The Beach Bum?

Happy Death Day 2U will now open one day earlier on 2/13/2019. It will be interesting to see the divide between its three-day and five-day gross.
