I think it's more because Daddy's Home 2 did well at that spot. They might as well called this one Daddy's Home 3.

Yeah apparently they are rooting for the Thanksgiving family audience after the film has tested extremely well.

New Annapurna date:

Destroyer 12/25/2018

And did we have If Beale Street Could Talk's 11/30/2018 date listed?

Believe it was. Those Annapurna dates (Beale Street, Sisters Brothers, Destroyer) have been floating around the bowels of the internet for a while, so I don't know why it look so long for the trade sites to confirm them.

Not trade sites, just Box Office Mojo. They seem to have a thing against independents.

I'm signing up for A-List, as that one ticket will be pretty much pay for the first month anyway. And I haven't been able to use my MoviePass for the past two weeks, as tickets always run out before 5-6pm. I can only go to the movies at night, so it was a waste to keep paying. Was a good run though.
I have both MP and A-List. Supposedly MP is going to go to three a month soon, which will hopefully end most of this BS. A-list has a three month commitment if you didn’t know. It’s very easy and most screenings are covered (no Fathom, PPV Theo things, etc).
Yeah, the 15th is when things are supposed to go back to normal, with the 3-a-month deal. If that's actually true, I'll give it at least a month's chance. But honestly, I go more than 3 times a month - hell, even between Aug 15th and Sept 15th, there's more than 3 movies I plan on seeing (Happytime, Eight Grade, Mile 22, Searching, Predator, Simple Favor).

I don't expect MP to go back to normal though, they still can't survive with limiting people to 3 a month. I'm sure there will still be blackout date and movies you can't see for at least the first 2-3 weeks (like Mission Impossible), or limiting choices each day (like they just started).

STX is set to pick up The Upside for a release near the end of the year. I wonder if the film will be re-edited after its mixed Toronto reception last year.

Well I guess that fills the gap in STX's awards season calendar (I don't expect it to get nominated for anything, but this is pretty much a lock to be released sometime in November or December)

I'd say The Best of Enemies is the more likely awards film from them, assuming BlacKkKlansman didn't overshadow it.

New date:

Flarsky 6/7/2019 (from 2/8/2019)

The film's tested well but a little late for my slate.

And the film that will replace Flarsky at 2/8/2019 is Hard Powder, one of the many Studiocanal pickups by Lionsgate.

So bad news for Boosh and Banks, good news for Walleye and Surfer.

The much-anticipated What Men Want has been bumped back a month, from 1/11/19 to 2/8/19.

Paramount really wants those date night tickets for Valentine's Day.

Good move.
