It looks like MoviePass's film division has gotten a major shot in the arm with the partial sale of Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films to the service's parent company. Upcoming films such as Boss Level will get branded under the MoviePass name. Oddly, the EFO slate also features straight-to-DVD (Escape Plan 2 & 3) and Netflix (The Irishman) titles.

Entertainment Studios has pulled Replicas from the 2018 schedule. And based on the trailer, I can't say I'm surprised.

Meanwhile, Fox has moved up The Old Man and the Gun to 9/28/2018 (from 10/5/2018).

New dates:

Where Did You Go, Bernadette? 3/22/2019 (from 10/19/2018)
Legally Blonde 3 2/14/2020 (the film industry is really desperate to make 2000's nostalgia happen)
In the Heights 6/26/2020

Ugh. Bernadette moved to March? Hope it won't get bumped further...

I wouldn't be surprised if there have been post-production issues. It was supposed to be ready for Mother's Day but Linklater had to promote Last Flag Flying while the current delay seems to suggest Annapurna doesn't like its awards chances (that and they have at least three films set for Oscar season).

In other news, Loving Pablo has lost its date. It wouldn't be surprising to see Universal pawn this one off to another distributor while retaining home video and VOD (the main reason why they got the film).

Seems that Johnny English 3 has been moved a month back to 10/26/18.

Sweet! That should net the film at least $10 extra!

Entertainment Studios has scheduled Stuck, which reads like a clone of Rent without the topical themes, in the 8/24/2018 spot vacated by Replicas.

You know Turkey is always complaining about the government is putting propaganda that glorifies its leaders into movie theatres? It seems like Dinesh D'Souza was inspired because he's putting a new one that does the exact same thing into theatres on 8/3/2018.

In other news, Amazon will open Peterloo on 11/9/2018.

The Disney-Fox merger has hit a roadblock. Because the AT&T/Time Warner deal was approved with no conditions (I was really hoping CNN would get sold to Jeff Skoll or someone who would retool it into Not Fox News 2), it has opened up Comcast to make a deal of their own that's rumored to be for more money and entirely in cash. In short, a lot of those hopes for a unified Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars could be dead in the water.

In happier news, Neon will release a recently unearthed student film from 1986 called Sharp Edges on 7/6/2018. The significance? It has rare footage of a young Tonya Harding before her glory and eventual infamy. If Neon decides to add a short to get it to feature length (the documentary runs 52 minutes), it could seek some interest from those who saw and enjoyed I, Tonya.

Comcast had made a higher bid back in December too but Fox decided to go with Disney since it seemed like it would be an easier merger. it sounds like now Comcast is proposing to rebid hoping fox will change their minds, but i doubt Disney will let it go without a fight.

Remember that SNL sketch from a few years back about the family fighting over politics that got buzzed about? It looks like someone got the idea to expand it to feature length as Lionsgate will release The Oath this fall.

Amazon will open Cold War on 12/21/2018. This should contend for a few Oscars.

And three A24/DirecTV titles get dates (I wonder if this deal will continue post-Time Warner merger):

Woman Walks Ahead 6/29/2018
Hot Summer Nights 7/27/2018
The Children Act 9/14/2018

Remember when they announced a remake of Jacob's Ladder a few years back before it was basically forgotten after it was finished? Mirror is releasing on 2/1/2019, more than two years after it completed filming.
