Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 will open on 11/12/2021. Stick a fork in this franchise, please.

I loved Crimes of Grindlewald, not that it was perfect, but they can always approve.

everyones loving on Endgame, and yet we had to sit through Thor 1 and 2 and the Incredible Hulk to get there.

Ad Astra has finally been pulled without a new release date. Supposedly Gray is hoping for a fall festival debut (assuming this means NYFF or TIFF) but at this point, who really knows?

I'm still betting on a Christmas opening. If Jojo Rabbit and The French Dispatch aren't ready, this could be Disney/Fox's Oscar film.

There's so many open dates later this year and early next year, and so many movies that show up with dates that are probably going to get pulled...I bet it finds a good spot.

I think it either ends up around the holidays this year or in the same late May spot next year (which is currently vacant) after a Cannes debut. A lot will depend on how quickly he finishes and how Disney wants their calendar to shake out.

Sonic is undergoing a re-design after the reaction to the trailer two days ago. I mean, it needed to happen because the model was garbage but... wow. Did not think they'd actually do it this late in the game.

Wonder if they move the date back or just chain the vfx guys to their desks for a few months?

Probably the latter. A lot of these trailers tend to use unfinished effects shots.

My take on it: you think the fans would love the design, seeing how he looks almost exactly like the bad fan art you see online.

And the Chaos Walking drama continues. Fede Alvarez (whose The Girl in the Spider's Web put him in movie jail) has been brought on to consult on the reshoots. I have a feeling Lionsgate will just end up having him direct them anyway as he's probably cheaper than Liman.

Jeez. The title of the movie is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yeah, the scuttlebutt on "Ad Astra" has always been so positive that I imagine it's being prepped for an Oscars campaign, which screams, "holiday rollout"....Then again... "First Man", y'know? :/

I thought "Grindlewald" was VERY good, much better than "Fantastic Beasts" and one of the entire franchise's strongest entries. But Johnny Depp is a freaking Dumpster fire right now, and I have been worried for the last two years that he will not be able to remain in this INCREDIBLY important role. I hope WB doesn't decide to cut their losses on this planned five-film cycle and to pull a "Rome", trying to wrap everything up in one final madcap rush to the finish line... But with the scripters going back to the drawing boards and the next movie being pushed back another year, that's exactly what I figure is coming down the pike. If they have to recast Grumblewick, good night, nurse. Ugh.

As for "Chaos Walking"... I know they're trying to salvage the film and blowing through money like nobody's business with last-ditch script mods and endless reshoots, and that Tom Holland was under contract to this interminable freaking production, but: COME ON. "Endgame" was THE biggest film, and THE biggest premiere, of his entire career, perhaps of his entire LIFETIME, and they couldn't spare him for 24 hours to fly to L.A. to be with his costars and take his turn on the red carpet? What a fucking bunch of jerks. Yah, probably he'd scream the entire plot from the rolled-down window of his limo, but, still. I won't see that movie on principle, now; might as well have been directed by Roman Polanski, or produced by Art Modell. Screw it. :D

Spies in Disguise from 9/13/19 to 12/25/19

The Art of Racing in the Rain from 9/27/19 to 8/9/19
Death on the Nile from 10/2/20 to 10/9/20
West Side Story dated for 12/18/20
Cruella dated for 12/23/20
Nimona from 2/15/20 to 3/5/21 (also out of the FY game)

Feel free to add if I missed anything. Damn...
