Kursk has been picked up by Saban and will premiere on DirecTV next Tuesday under the new title of The Command. It will get a limited release on 6/21/2019 (don't expect it to report).

Meanwhile, After the Wedding finally gets a distributor. Sony will release it some time in August.

Roadside has picked up SXSW audience award The Peanut Butter Falcon and slated it for release on August 9th

Remember that movie with Katherine Heigl from a few years back where she's gay and has to come out to her family before the wedding? It seems TriStar is remaking it (or at least using the exact same idea) with Kristen Stewart and it's now called The Happiest Season, which will open on 11/20/2020.

Now we know what happened to Den of Thieves 2. STX ended up not making it and eOne has now picked it up out of turnaround.

In other news, Chris Rock is set to reboot the Saw franchise. His new vision of Jigsaw will open on 10/23/2020.

Jacob's Ladder has been picked up by Vertical and will premiere on Dish Networks in July before going day-and-date in August. It must be really bad if United Artists didn't want to release it.

In other news, Paramount's plan of low budgets seems to be out the window. They have paid $50 million for the worldwide rights to Down Under Cover, a Chris Hemsworth/Tiffany Haddish vehicle that will begin filming in February. They beat out Lionsgate, Sony, Netflix, Miramax, and STX in a bidding war to make the deal.

And Mortal Kombat will finally arrive on 3/5/2021. It seems like this has been in the works for a decade now.

Fox has picked up A Hidden Life (Malick's new one). When's the last time Disney's released a foreign language film that wasn't Miramax or Miyazaki?

Minions 2 has been revealed to be a prequel to Despicable Me and will be subtitled The Rise of Gru. Could it be a return to the franchise's origins or just more Minion madness?
