Maybe they moved it to October to try to get Julianne Moore a Best Supporting Actress nomination (which isn't that unusual, as the original got Oscar nominations for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress). Well that and Sony has Hipster Rehab, I mean Evil Dead, in April.

Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse has been canceled due to budget and script troubles and as a result is no longer at 4/25/2014. Meanwhile, I've been reading rumors that Interstellar (the new Christopher Nolan film, which will be produced by Spielberg) will be slotted at 11/21/2014.

I haven't heard anything about that, though I do know that many years ago Lucas wanted Spielberg to direct Return of the Jedi (the DGA refused to let that happen, since Spielberg's a member and Lucas' projects were non-union).

New release dates:

Machete Kills 9/13/2013 (opening just three weeks before Rodriguez's other new film)
Gravity 10/4/2013
The Book Thief (new Geoffrey Rush film) 1/17/2014
The Muppets 2: I Can't Believe It's Following The Previous Film's Plot 3/21/2014
Jurassic Park 4 6/13/2014
Maleficent 7/2/2014 (from 3/14/2014) (I'm wondering if there is some 47 Ronin type trouble on this one, seeing how it's got a first-time director and all?)
1952 (Brad Bird's latest) 12/19/2014
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 (why?) 7/10/2015

Also, Disney has pulled The Little Mermaid 3-D from their 2013 schedule (possibly due to the weak box office of Monsters Inc. 3-D).

It seems Jean-Jacques Annaud's Black Gold has been renamed "Day of the Falcon", which sounds like an 80's action film, and is getting a limited release on March 1st after a February VOD launch.
A few other new dates :
- Upside Down 03/15/2013
- The Iceman 05/03/2013
(Millenium is releasing those two)

It wasn't really good anyway (the film). Huge flop in France when it was released in 2011.

I knew that it bombed in Europe. Not even Mark Strong could save it from being one of 2012's worst openings in the UK.

The other Melissa McCarthy movie of the spring, The Heat, has been bumped from 4/5/13 to 6/28/13.

It will now face White House Down and Kick-Ass 2. This also leaves Jurassic Park 3D as the only release for 4/5.
