Seriously. Universal's home video division greenlighted it and Pure Flix is releasing it. Not surprisingly, none of the original cast or crew are involved.

Meanwhile, I found out what the Mirror label is (as I noticed that The Miracle Season is listed as a release from it along with Dog Days). It's a joint venture between Annapurna and MGM developed to distribute titles for independents (kind of like what Orion does now). Interesting that MGM chose to self-distribute Every Day instead of using Mirror. The combined Annapurna/MGM/Mirror slate for 2018 stands at 11 and it's only February.

The newly-formed Global Road (a merger of Open Road and IM Global) has announced its first acquisition. The thriller Hotel Artemis, with Jodie Foster leading an impressive cast, will open later in the year.

Meanwhile, Netflix has picked up Sundance hit The Kindergarten Teacher along with The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter (Jody Hill's long-delayed follow-up to Observe and Report).

Bleecker Street has scheduled another movie for the summer. The fashion documentary McQueen will open on 7/13/2018.

Edit: speaking of documentaries, the long-in-development documentary from Kevin Macdonald, Whitney, will open on 7/6/2018. It looked as if this was canceled for a while after Nick Broomfield's Whitney Houston documentary came out.

While the Disney/Fox merger is waiting to be official, Lionsgate is looking for a buyer, and The Weinstein Company files for bankruptcy, AMC Networks has announced they will enter film distribution by buying RLJ Entertainment (the former Image Entertainment). I have to wonder if they'll revitalize the label or run it into the ground like they did BBC America (where the only BBC shows ever on are Doctor Who and Top Gear).

New dates:
Borg vs. McEnroe 4/13/2018
Under the Silver Lake 6/22/2018 limited, Summer 2018 wide
Eighth Grade 7/13/2018
Animal Crackers TBA 2018 (from 4/27/2018)

Also, I found out more about Lionsgate being on the block. Apparently, the company is having financial troubles and if they don't find a buyer by the end of the year, they will have to file for bankruptcy. So expect another mega-merger to occur soon (CBS has shown interest).

Infinity War just moved up to 4/27/2018. Nothing is safe.

I wonder how many other movies will shift around now, this could reverberate throughout the schedule

I think everything surrounding it is going to move to May or beyond. Entertainment Studios saw it coming and pulled Animal Crackers from the schedule.

I Feel Pretty might stay put since its not going for the same audience, but I'd be surprised if Traffik didn't move. As for the rest of the schedule, I think Warner Brothers might bump Rampage to May.

I'm expecting I Feel Pretty to move back to the summer. Schumer's audience is eroding fast and she seems to be playing herself again.

And returning to Disney, Mulan will now open on 3/27/2020.

More Disney:

Marvel placeholders: 8/7/2020 (from 7/31/2020), 5/7/2021, 7/30/2021, 11/5/2021, 2/18/2022, 5/6/2022, 7/29/2022
Pixar placeholders: 3/6/2020 (from 3/13/2020), 3/18/2022, 6/17/2022

Meanwhile, Nicole has been removed from the schedule and will now premiere on Disney's streaming service. Anna Kendrick should probably try to find some TV work as it's now obvious studios aren't willing to take a chance on her with non-franchise films.
