The Witches will premiere on HBO Max on October 22nd. Not a good sign for Zemeckis or Anne Hathaway's careers.

With virtually no time for a marketing campaign, it's clearly a disaster

Pair of massive (and unsurprising) moves made in the last few hours:
No Time to Die 4/2/21 (from 11/20/20)
Fast and Furious 9 5/28/21 (from 4/2/21)

Is anyone else not really feeling this new Bond film? The delays haven't helped (and MGM was hinting delaying it until the summer) but this one simply looks like pure hyperbole, between its bloated run time, multiple plotlines, and the promise of how it's the Bond that changes everything (I bet it does nothing that we haven't already speculated). Also, Billie Eilish might be a worse choice to perform the theme since Eoin McLove doing Spectre and inexplicably winning an Oscar.

In a case of the impossible (for me, at least), I'm more interested in Mank and wondering why that's been delayed. It's Netflix and they are the last company that should be pushing back things (possible Sundance premiere?).

All I know is that a lot of my friends who don't like Bond were excited by that last trailer.

And I'll take that Billie Eilish song over almost any Bond song in the last 20 years.

Amid the recent delays, Clint Eastwood has announced Cry Macho (a project originally intended for Arnold Schwarzenegger) to be his next film, of which he'll star as well as direct. As this point, Eastwood might have unretired more times than Soderbergh and Miyazaki combined.

Meanwhile, Monster Hunter is moving up to sometime in December (most likely December 4th). Sony must be rethinking their "no big titles until there's a vaccine" plan.

Eliish's Bond track is excellent. While I don't have an extensive enough knowledge of Bond theme songs to declare it my favorite, it definitely blows the doors off of Madonna's, Adele's and that abomination Sam Smith churned out for Spectre.

As for how the movie looks, I'd been avoiding the new trailer because I figured another delay was imminent, but I saw it in front of Tenet and was very impressed. The action sequences look absolutely massive, which is nice especially considering that Spectre was completely free of true spectacle after that opening scene in Mexico. Plus I'm optimistic about Rami Malek's odds of being a good villain.

I'm sure Malek will be fine (not sure why Blofeld returned, considering all the backlash from the reveal in Spectre) but his character name is silly. I keep thinking of that kid on that one season of Married...with Children.

Dune has been pushed to 10/1/2021. Didn't think it would stay in December, considering Wonder Woman opening a week later and Judas & the Black Messiah still not having a date.

I was sure Breaking News in Yuba County would end up going straight-to-streaming after how badly Ava did. Tate Taylor's career has tanked harder than the Houston Texans' playoff hopes.

Edit: it kind of is, as MGM revived American International Pictures as a VOD label to distribute films like it. I have to wonder if it replaces Orion Classics.
