The 1993 version of The Secret Garden did rather well, making $31 million all those years ago. It's not going to hit that mark but I wouldn't say it's a hard sell either.

And two more new dates:

Shirley 4/24/2020 (Neon hoping for some that Invisible Man money)
The Father (Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman both seeking another Oscar) 11/20/2020

This year's SXSW has been canceled by the city of Austin due to Coronavirus and sponsors pulling out. I guess studios will have to find other ways to overhype their latest comedies.

New dates:

My Spy 4/17/2020 (from 3/13/2020) (so I guess The Secret Garden isn't opening in April after all)
The Informer 7/31/2020 (from TBA)

Slay the Dragon has been pushed to April 3rd so don't expect me to cover it.

Not surprised. Parents aren't taking their kids to a movie theater as this corona gets worse and worse.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Trolls 2 move to the fall next.

Seriously, though, I feel ya. I've been preparing for the Tucson Festival of Books for the last SIX MONTHS, and was looking forward to returning for the sixth year in a row this weekend. And then it got canceled. :|

I have to wonder if there's going to be anyone interested in seeing Peter Rabbit in August. But then again, the summer 2020 lineup hasn't looked very good (for example, why is Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar opening in July anyway?).

Meanwhile, it looks like Sony is still trying to get Man from Toronto ready for November. Woody Harrelson is in talks to replace Statham.

And in other news, it looks like the SXSW cancellation has hurt the parent organization a lot worse than we thought. They needed the festival to replenish their depleted coffers and as a result, their money reserves will run out by the end of the summer unless they get new financing. I have to wonder if we'll see a new festival emerge if the festival folds.

A Quiet Place 2 just got pushed to an unknown date. We're going to see stuff flee the calendar like crazy until things start to calm down. Absolute insanity...

Jeez fucking Louise.

At this point, I wonder if we should even have a game. The winner might be the one with $10M on their slate...
