Funny Pages has just started its ad campaign, which looks to suggest a release date announcement is imminent. This will be a theatrical exclusive and not be a day-and-date title related to A24's deals with Apple or Showtime.
The description underneath the trailer on A24's YouTube page confirms that it's coming out on August 26th and will be a day-and-date theatrical/VOD release.

Interesting that A24's poster didn't say that, as previous day-and-date titles had listed where you could see them along with the date. Also, A24 has not sent an e-mail to subscribers (yes, I get e-mails from them as I bought a Blu-ray from their shop once) with the date and a trailer yet.

Anyway, some new Paramount dates:
Titanic (new reissue for its 25th anniversary) 2/10/2023
The TIger's Apprentice 12/20/2023 (back to Christmas from its previous date of 1/19/2024)
A Quiet Place: Day One 3/8/2024 (from 9/22/2023)
Imaginary Friends 5/24/2024 (from 11/17/2023)

Having just spoken to A24, I can confirm Disappointment Blvd is still being edited (becuase of length) and Sundance will be its earliest release, andthe Whale is being fought over by Telluride, Venice, and TIFF.

It could mean absolutely nothing, but I'm going to take the news of the festivals fighting over the premiere of The Whale as a good sign for its quality.

It is Aronofsky's first film in five years and he does need a hit.

Speaking of A24, they've brought Apple on as a co-distributor for the long-delayed Jennifer Lawrence/Brian Tyree Henry vehicle which is now titled Causeway. It will release in theaters and on Apple TV+ in the fall. No word if it will be day-and-date release or mirror Tragedy of Macbeth's 3-week theatrical exclusive run ahead of its streaming bow.

It's more than likely being dumped. Filming finished three years ago and if it didn't have a name actor like Lawrence, it probably would have been sold to cable or another streaming service.

It what looks like the first Peacock original film, the John Logan-directed thriller They/Them arrives on August 5th. Think Boy Erased as a horror film.

It looks like Everything Everywhere All at Once is getting reissued on the 29th, even though the movie is already on demand and on physical media. Could this be to get it to $70 million?

It looks like Bodies Bodies Bodies is being platformed on August 5th before expanding wide on August 12th. It's got the reviews to do so but I'm not sure if this is the best move for a horror film to do this.

New Marvel Dates:
Blade 11/3/23
Captain America: New World Order 5/3/24
Thunderbolts 7/26/24
Fantastic Four 11/8/24
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty 5/2/25
Avengers: Secret Wars 11/7/25

There's also a handful of placeholder dates ranging from February 2024 (that's probably Deadpool 3 since it's the only TBD Marvel project that has hired a director and has at least 1 draft of a script already complete) through November 2026

I have to imagine that second scheduled Avengers gets pushed. You almost never see two installments of a big franchise released that close together.

And seeing that Marvel is still trying to make a Fantastic Four movie work, how long before they try to reboot some other properties that weren't considered successful the first time (Howard the Duck, Elektra, Iron Fist, Inhumans) and give them the big-budget treatments some might want to see?
