More new dates:

Burnt (aka Adam Jones) 10/23/2015 (from 10/2/2015)
Carol 11/20/2015 (from 12/18/2015)
Secret in Their Eyes 11/20/2015 (from 10/23/2015)
The Shack (yet another religious film) 8/12/2016

Meanwhile, Relativity has lost the rights to Jane Got a Gun and the producers intend to sell domestic rights to The Weinstein Company (though it's thought Weinstein may pass due having The Hateful Eight). Also, Sony may end up taking The Bronze's domestic rights (possibly licensing that one to Vertical for day-and-date distribution). And Autobahn is now titled Collide and is currently being shopped by Relativity.

Burnt ? So changing the title of Adam Jones after all... And moving it to an already super crowded weekend (well, with bad looking films mostly).
So that leaves the first weekend of October to The Martian who now has a boulevard for itself.

All they really did was change a really bad title (Adam Jones brings to mind the Baltimore Orioles baseball player or the infamous football player nicknamed Pac Man rather than a movie where Bradley Cooper rehashes that show where he played Anthony Bourdain) to a slightly less worse title.

Meanwhile, I imagine something will move up from the also crowded October 9th spot (I'm guessing My All-American moves up, as it's going to be DOA at any spot) or Legend becomes a wide release. I don't think The Walk will change from its planned 300-400 theatre run on the 30th.

I already listed that one under its new, slightly amended title.

And Relativity has returned Hillsong - Let Hope Rise to its filmmakers. Who wants to bet this goes straight-to-DVD now?

Meanwhile, Beasts of No Nation will run exclusively through the Landmark chain on October 16th. So much for those plans to open in 300 theatres.

Less than an hour ago, Relativity Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Of their remaining releases, only Masterminds, Kidnap, and the in pre-production The Crow will remain at Relativity. Others will be sold off while EuropaCorp titles will be self-distributed.

Regal has announced they will not carry Paranormal Activity 5 or A Scout's Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse due to Paramount reducing the theatrical window on both. Paramount will release both digitally as soon as their theater count dips under 300.

Regal has almost 600 theaters, so it'll definitely hurt both if Paramount stays the course. But neither was going to gross over $30M anyway.

Actually, it's the sixth Paranormal Activity (The Marked Ones was the fifth movie).

But anyway, Regal needs to get with the times. Day-and-date distribution and shorter windows are the future, not playing the same few movies and creating artificial product shortages.

Wasn't Marked Ones the Spanish spin-off?

Everest has been moved up to 9/18/15, it'll be in wide release that weekend instead of IMAX-only as originally planned.

Jane Got A Gun, Disappointments Room, Kitchen Sink, and Regression have all been finally officially taken off the schedule.

John Green's adaptation, Let It Snow, has been moved back from the dregs of 9/9/16 to a more appropriate date of 12/9/16.

Let it Snow was always on 12/9/2016 (seeing how it's a Christmas movie). Box Office Mojo listed the incorrect date.

And I'm pretty sure Everest is still going to be September 18th limited, September 25th wide since Box Office Mojo never updated the title and HSX didn't list a change (just speculation). (Edit: it's still 9/18 limited, 9/25 wide as tickets have begun to be sold with these dates)
