A new distributor called Bleecker Street (named after the street in Greenwich Village) headed by a former Focus COO and funded by the founder of 5-Hour Energy has entered distribution and announced their first three releases: Trumbo (with Bryan Cranston as Dalton Trumbo), Danny Collins (with Al Pacino as an ex-rock star) and Captain Fantastic (with Viggo Mortensen). None of the three films have dates yet but expect them to hit theatres as early as Spring 2015.

And one new date:
Power Rangers 7/22/2016

Because Gareth Edwards needs to think long and hard about what monsters he'll give 3 minutes of screen time.

Uh, they've already hinted that Mothra's going to be the villain.

And a few new dates:
The Babadook 11/28/2014
The Moon and the Sun (another young adult adaptation, this one featuring Pierce Brosnan and William Hurt in supporting roles) 4/10/2015

Also, Paramount is looking to place Men, Women and Children in October and The Gambler in December, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Just added:

The Age of Adeline 1/23/15 (wide release) romantic drama starring Blake Lively and Harrison Ford.

Could someone add this and The Moon and the Sun to both waiver wires?

The Good Lie will now be a wide opener on October 3rd, as a number of theatres are already doing advance sales beginning on that date. Should be good counter-programming for audiences who don't want to sit through the 150 minute Gone Girl.

And one new date:
Men, Women and Children 10/3/2014 limited, 10/17/2014 wide

Awesome news, I was about to drop the good lie the other day but my gut told me to hold on to it for a bit longer.

I took it in the 15th. I figured something good would come out of it.

And one new date:
Nightcrawler 10/31/2014 (from 10/17/2014)

So we finally see a film blink after Men, Women and Children got slotted at a wide October 17th date.

Well, that and Fury both moving to that date definitely got to Open Road.

And this year, moreso than any other, it seems that Oscar season has fully taken over October. It's been leaking into the month for years as December is always chock full and November started reaching capacity. There's only 3 horror films this year (if you count Dracula Untold), against 7 Oscar-hopeful dramas.

New release dates:

Men, Women and Children 10/1/2014 limited, 10/17/2014 wide (from 10/3/2014 limited)
Automata (Antonio Banderas/Javier Bardem sci-fi) 10/10/2014
Saw (one week only reissue) 10/31/2014
McFarland, U.S.A. (formerly McFarland) 2/20/2015 (from 11/21/2014)
Rock the Kasbah (Bill Murray, war and rock music) 4/24/2015
Beyond the Brick: A Lego Brickumentary 4/24/2015 (surprisingly, Warner Bros. isn't distributing this but rather The Weinstein Company)
Magic Mike 2 7/1/2015 (from 7/3/2015)
Triple Nine 9/11/2015
The Croods 2 12/22/2017
Puss in Boots 2 12/21/2018

In other news, it looks like The Good Dinosaur may be pushed to 2016. The film has been totally rewritten and in the process, the voice actors will be re-recording their work (this was confirmed by John Lithgow in a recent interview).

Wait what ? The Man from UNCLE got postponed ? FFFFFFF*%$ !!!!!! Between that and Expendables 3, my mid-rounds picks are poor so far.
Thank you Clint Eastwood for being quick to work and delivering your new film for Christmas like I suspected, it eases the disappointment.
