Also Fireproofs running time was 122 min, a whole whopping 8 minutes less than courageous, facing the giants was just under two hours.

ALSO they aren't at all the same story line. Just because both movies focus on men in the line of duty does not make it the same story. Fireproof was about marriage and Courageous is about men stepping up and being a good father.
Ehh....I wouldn't go that far.

I wasn't trying to say that the movie was by any means amazing simply that for having almost no actors and no budget it actually was an ok movie. It set out to be a movie for couples to go see, to get a message, and enjoy themselves. And in that sense it did a good job. If people didn't like the movie they wouldn't have gone to see it. There aren't very many wide release BAD movies that have a 5x multiplier.

And Around June has been pulled from its release date yet again. It is now scheduled for TBA September 2011.

In other news, a film with Michael Clarke Duncan that is directed by Mario Van Peebles called Redemption Road (formerly Black, White and Blues) has been scheduled for 8/26/2011.

And two new dates from Sony:

The Skin That I Live In (formerly The Skin That I Inhabit) 10/7/2011 (a month earlier than the planned November worldwide launch date)
Carnage 11/18/2011

Relativity has pushed Act of Valor from 11/11/2011 to 2/17/2012. And amazingly enough, the film is going wide.

It's got nothing to do with the thread itself, but I notice it here so I'll say it here, there's a spelling mistake in the 5000+ messages status, as I see you have reached this status Boosch : There's an "s" in the first name "Jacques" for "Jacques Clouseau"... I don't know if it can be fixed...

I've been reading that The Weinstein Company is possibly going to dump Dirty Girl into 400 theatres on August 5th (they only just released a poster and no trailer is out yet). You may want to drop it in the full-year league, Ozzy.

And new release dates:

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy 9/2/2011 (from 8/26/2011)
Fast Six 5/24/2013
R.I.P.D. 6/28/2013 (Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges in a big-budgeted horror comedy)

Harry Potter??? Surely an apocalyptic thriller would be suited on something like Transformers, Cowboys and Aliens, Rise of the Apes, more than Harry Potter?

Lionsgate has picked up the home video, Internet and television rights for Red State. This, combined with the million or so that Kevin Smith made on the tour, should definitely assure a wide release on it.

New release dates:

The Three Musketeers 10/21/2011 (from 10/14/2011)
W.E. 12/9/2011
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3-D (the second reboot of Leatherface, with the director of Takers attached) 10/5/2012
Singularity (Roland Emmerich's next film) 5/17/2013

Also, Warner Bros. has scheduled J. Edgar and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close for tentative October and December 2011 dates, respectively.

Agreed on that assessment, surf.

And W.E is a historical romantic drama starring Abbie Cornish and directed by... Madonna. Well, at least she's not IN it.
