Super-contest of 2009// Blockbusters of 2009

Post by delfinasu »

Hi everybody!

I've copied here my last post on this topic.
I haven't done an update earlier because not much was changed: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key= ... utput=html (update: 09/20/09)

We have only 8 movies to be released. I propose the end of November for the next update because of their release dates...

The biggest surprise is The Hangover, 4th place until now. A movie not chosen by anyone. As well as The Proposal - 10th place until now.
Until the next update, I propose to you a little quiz  : The Ten Blockbusters

Name in max. TEN minutes, TEN movies with more than $100 M cume in USA, with its Titles - one single word beginning with T: e.g.: Titanic...

Good luck!

P.S.: Try not to cheat! Don't search the infos on net!

Single word title would exclude Toy Story and not sure if that includes 2 or 3 of Terminator.

I think Geez is definitely right with Twilight and Transformers, the sequels I am not sure. Here are my guesses.

Tootsie. (I seem to remember it making tons of money)

Troy. (I think it did make 100 but shouldn't have. LOL)

Traffic. (guessing here but since it got some oscars...)

Tron. (No idea what it made BO wise but with cult status maybe)

Hmm running out of T one word movies. Traitor, nope, Taps, nope, Tommyknockers, TV, so nope. Trainspotting, cult movie with no money, nope.

Fuck, Taken!!! Just made 130ish a few months ago.

Ok ten minutes is up so I have the 5 bold guesses.

Only thing I could come up with is (The) Transporter, but I'm not sure if that broke $100M

all 10: you're a Box Office expert !!!

I hope you liked it

PS: I guessed only 6... without help...

Back in January, it wasn't expected to be ready in time for 2009.

All of us who picked Avatar are blasting up the charts. Since J.I and I are the highest with Avatar I think we will probably get 1st and 2nd.
