Doing one more nightshift before switching to days, so still up for another 10 or so hours.
So, I'll go with the trending muso biopic flick Better Man, hopefully it's not a complete flop.

Wow - ya'll were busy while I was sleeping. Very kind to give me Tarot. When it surprises and makes 22 million worldwide instead of 17 million you'll all be jealous!

I didn't even know half of these movies existed until they got picked. And here I thought I was clever for getting Eden. Give me a minute - let's see what's at the bottom of the barrel.

I'll take Bridget Jones: Mad about the boy. The last one didn't do great - but maybe this will have a little more pull.

Richard Curtis must be desperate at this point (edit: Curtis isn't working on this one, having been replaced on the script with the director of Dirty Grandpa and Home Sweet Home Alone).

But anyway, yet another fourth installment no one asked for.

I'll give Walleye some time to re-pick if he wants, although Five Nights at Freddy proved that Peacock doesn't matter

Peacock might not even exist by February. It's been a money pit for Comcast.

Whew I really don't know what to pick then. I'll Choose The Strangers pt 1? Maybe I can corner the market on all the bad horror movies in May

I'll go ahead and make it two seasons in a row and hope the wait has gotten whatever audience there is whipped in a frenzy for part 3 of this odd X trilogy: MaXXXine

I will take Alto Knights.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

The films on the calendar are pretty bleak at this point. Alto Knights (another movie filmed in Cincinnati!) is the last one I was considering over my TBDs although I'm fairly certain it's going to be terrible with DeNiro playing both leads haha.

I'll take another film that sounds like it may be a hot mess, Megalopolis. No idea if this will even find a distributor stateside but with Cannes coming up, I should know pretty soon if it's any good / picked up and I can drop it quickly if not.

Might as well take one of the bigger TBA titles with distribution off the board here. Taika Waititi's stock is tumbling at the moment and I have no idea how popular the source material is in the US, but Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams are the leads and its currently expected to be ready for a late 2024 release, which is good enough for me at this point in the draft.

I was going to pick it up, but it only recently wrapped, and given the sci-fi element I expect it to be in post for a lot of this year. So not convinced it wil be ready for the award season.

Yeah, I can't see two Amy Adams movies being out of the same time when this is set to be her comeback year. You want one out after the other, not concurrently.

In addition, Ishiguro is a very highbrow author so a film like this might need to have a lot of work in how to market it.
