I think this year might be the most unpredictable ever. The Spidey has one great opening, and will end up with one of the best numbers of the season, no doubt about that. But its sequel is still far off, and it's hard to say how this will all turn out.
But it's true that if it does come out, its combo with GOTG3 will put Ron in a good position. But others also have a #1 and #2 combo with great potential, and as always, the rest will play a strong part. As long as their is no film with $500M+ earnings, anything's possible.
Agreed, it's exciting, and like some years before the winning slate was down not to the #1 or 2 draft pick, but the mid-draft films that surprised.

Guys, if you wanna do a double feature of The Machine and Elemental next weekend, I wouldn't stop you...

Though The Machine might not even still be in theaters then :(

I'll need all the help I can get until October.
I'm intending on dumping $10.79 into The Machine's pot on Friday that I wasn't initially planning to. Be sure to thank me if you win.

Sony is going to look really dumb if My Hero Academia turns out to be good. Had Sony not passed on it, it would have made more in the first day than The Machine will in its entire run.

Standings (up until June 25)

Things are heating up ! Ron only has a very small margin left on Screen, who’s bound to let him behind next week. As for the Shrykemi duo, they are on Spectre’s tail too. Elsewhere, I’m finally joining the game. And Indy next week is my assurance to not spend more than a week in the basement.

1. Ronspeare - $362,891,498 (2 films - GOTG Vol. 3, About My Father)
2. Screenspeare - $358,041,578 (3 films - Across the Spiderverse, Boogeyman, Past Lives)
3. Spectrespeare - $280,389,102 (2 films - Asteroid City, Little Mermaid)
4. Shrykespearemi - $279,956,893 (3 films - The Blackening, Fast X, Transformers)
5. Sixspeare - $92,134,176 (2 films - The Flash, You Hurt My Feelings)
6. Bankspeare - $75,942,181 (2 films - Elemental, The Machine)
7. Walleyespeare - $22,369,472 (no film in theaters)
8. Chienspeare - $15,002,770 (1 film - No Hard Feelings)
Trannyspeare (first film opening 7/21)

The following films appear to be done :
Book Club 2 (Walleye, 8th round) = $17,556,340
Kandahar (Walleye, 11th round) = $4,813,132

6/30
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Chien, 1st round)

Standings (up until July 2)

And we have a new king (for now) in Screen ! He edges out Ron thanks to Spidey’s huge success. Just below, Spectre sees Shrykemi come closer to him. Shykemi is bound for 3rd place, and first place very soon with MI7 approaching. Below that, it’s getting tighter with Six, Banks and myself standing in less than 20M. Six is still punching the walls of his London flat, screaming "Bloody Hell, why did I pick Ruby Gillman over The Exorcist!" Walleye stands still for now. And Tranny is still waiting for Barbie’s release to join the party.

1. Screenspeare - $387,342,775 (3 films - Across the Spiderverse, Boogeyman, Past Lives)

I was stupidly convinced The Exorcist would be taken that soon. Alas, it was, and I overestimated the appetite for animated movies in general having seen Mario kick some ass.

I wouldn't have touched Ruby before Round 6 I think. The trailer was so unconvincing. Getting released right after the new Pixar, even if Pixar isn't what it used to be, it was bound for low revenues. But I never thought it would be that low.

My thoughts exactly. $5 mil truly is a stunningly low debut for a Dreamworks Animation project, regardless of how it looked or was reviewed.

Not giving it a date until the end of March killed it. That and was anyone asking for a film that's basically Luca meets Mean Girls?

Also, only Disney seems to be able to make mermaid movies work. Both their versions of The Little Mermaid and Splash had way more appeal and better production values than the others.

Standings (up until July 9)

Screen is keeping the lead to himself fast thanks to Insidious, and he’ll soon have a comfortable $100M advance on Ron. And when you see the calendar, with TMNT, his 3rd round pick, arriving in 4 weekends, he’s gonna solidify his 1st place for quite some time, probably. Although Shrykemi have Ethan Hunt approaching, so he’ll jump to 2nd place in no time.
Below, I’ve claimed 5th place despite Indy’s disappointing numbers, Six is 6th once more, neck and neck with Banks less than $2M behind him. Joy Ride’s release didn’t do much for Walleye’s numbers, but he’s got Oppenheimer and Haunted Mansion arriving soon.

1. Screenspeare - $441,807,411 (4 films - Insidious, Across the Spiderverse, Boogeyman, Past Lives)
2. Ronspeare - $369,628,266 (2 films - GOTG Vol. 3, About My Father)
3. Spectrespeare - $313,245,786 (2 films - Asteroid City, Little Mermaid)
4. Shrykespearemi - $309,677,468 (3 films - The Blackening, Fast X, Transformers)
5. Chienspeare - $162,693,486 (2 film - Indiana Jones, No Hard Feelings)
6. Sixspeare - $121,656,509 (3 films - Ruby Gillman, The Flash, You Hurt My Feelings)
7. Bankspeare - $120,082,633 (2 films - Elemental, The Machine)
8. Walleyespeare - $28,175,749 (3 films - Joy Ride, Book Club 2, Kandahar)
Trannyspeare (first film opening 7/21)

Standings (up until July 16)

Ethan Hunt arrived and helped Shrykemi go from 4th to 2nd. And the coming weeks should get them closer to 1st. Way to go, guys. Way below, Banks jumps ahead of Six for 6th thanks to the strong holds from Elemental. Coming ahead, Walleye has two big films in the next two weeks that should help him get passed Six, but most of all, this is the end of a long wait for Tranny, as Barbie’s release will mark his entrance in the standings. And he should do so with a bang.

1. Screenspeare - $479,500,488 (4 films - Insidious, Across the Spiderverse, Boogeyman, Past Lives)
2. Shrykespearemi - $394,710,475 (3 films - MI7, The Blackening, Transformers)

8. Walleyespeare - $33,106,930 (1 film - Joy Ride)
