Standings (up until July 23)

That’s what you call an entrance. Tranny had been waiting on the sideline for almost 3 months, but he enters the competition smashing the door and passing by Walleye, Six and Banks. The first three days of Barbie made more than what each of their slates got in all those weeks. And I’m next on his list. And let’s not forget that although Walleye is last now, that won’t last. After three consecutives misfires, he hit the jackpot with Oppenheimer. In fact with Haunted Mansion opening this weekend, he’ll surely leave Six, Banks and myself in his rearview by next monday. What a weekend this has been !
Elsewhere, Screen is less than a million from reaching half a billion and still leading.

1. Screenspeare - $499,689,984 (4 films - Insidious, Across the Spiderverse, Boogeyman, Past Lives)
2. Shrykespearemi - $437,901,469 (3 films - MI7, The Blackening, Transformers)
3. Ronspeare - $370,942,850 (1 film - GOTG Vol. 3)
4. Spectrespeare - $323,385,062 (2 films - Asteroid City, Little Mermaid)

Seriously, my first three picks were such turkeys. Thanks Nolan for righting the ship! I'm hoping Haunted Mansion can find some breathing room, but I think it will be short lived all the same. Barbie is stomping her way to the biggest movie of the Summer for sure.

Damn, losing my #3 pick Kraven is gonna hurt my chances of finishing in the top 3.

If you think that's bad, I lost Aquaman last year due to delays.

And say goodbye to Bad Boys 4. It was a longshot, but worth it. Looks like I'll be trolling the waiver wire with Chien.

Standings (up until July 30)

Barbie has few limits for now and is on its way to being this season’s Mario Bros. It took less than two weeks to push it to $350M, so yes, Tranny has, once again, gold in his hands. This week, he goes from 6th to 4th, and next week, he’ll have moved up once again. Damn. Walleye made a good climb too, going from 9th to 6th. Screen and Ron are hoping to keep Tranny at large this week with TMNT and The Meg 2.

1. Screenspeare - $510,467,649 (3 films - Insidious, Across the Spiderverse, Past Lives)
2. Shrykespearemi - $459,426,895 (2 films - MI7, Transformers)

9. Sixspeare - $138,778,299 (3 films - Talk to Me, Ruby Gillman, The Flash)

Standings (up until August 6)

Tranny goes up again thanks to Barbie, and will be 2nd next week. Screen is the only man left standing to resist the doll. Elsewhere, thanks to Oppie, Walleye is getting closer to the Top 5 and Six is getting closer to Banks in the “I don’t want to be last” battle. But the season is still long enough for that race to be completely different at some point. Next week, The Last Voyage of Demeter is all alone, so obviously it will get 1st and get me on top soon enough. Wait, what ?
Also, I’m taking a two-week vacation in Bretagne starting on Friday, so I won’t update these numbers until the last weekend of August.

1. Screenspeare - $557,416,332 (3 films - TMNT, Insidious, Across the Spiderverse)
2. Shrykespearemi - $471,839,705 (2 films - MI7, Transformers)
3. Trannyspeare - $449,390,060 (1 film - Barbie)
4. Ronspeare - $401,084,327 (2 films - The Meg 2, GOTG Vol. 3)
5. Spectrespeare - $324,906,560 (2 films - Asteroid City, Little Mermaid)
6. Walleyespeare - $306,519,393 (2 films - Haunted Mansion, Oppenheimer)
7. Chienspeare - $221,112,535 (2 film - Indiana Jones, No Hard Feelings)
8. Bankspeare - $158,866,878 (1 film - Elemental)
9. Sixspeare - $150,725,187 (3 films - Talk to Me, Ruby Gillman, The Flash)

The following films appear to be done:
Past Lives (Screen, 10th round) = $10,404,719
Joy Ride (Walleye, 6th round) = $12,897,789

8/11
The Last Voyage of Demeter (Chien, 7th round)

8/18
Blue Beetle (Spectre, 3rd round)
Strays (Ron, 6th round)

8/25
Gran Turismo (Tranny, 6th round)

9/1

Standings (up until August 27)

Here comes the long awaited standings post after three weeks off. You gotta give it to Screen, no matter how high Barbie climbs, Tranny still stays behind him thanks to a very solid slate. And with Equalizer 3 arriving, he’ll be sure to spend more time atop. But still, Tranny is right behind him thanks to the doll. And thanks to Oppie, Walleye gains one spot to 5th. Down below, Six passes by Banks.
After four months of competition, there are 3 groups. The superperforming duet above, a quartet in the middle, and a disappointed trio way behind.

1. Screenspeare - $616,187,686 (3 films - TMNT, Insidious, Across the Spiderverse)
2. Trannyspeare - $610,215,939 (2 films - Gran Turismo, Barbie)
3. Shrykespearemi - $488,781,556 (1 film - MI7)
4. Ronspeare - $461,626,243 (2 films - Strays, The Meg 2)
5. Walleyespeare - $396,655,332 (2 films - Haunted Mansion, Oppenheimer)
6. Spectrespeare - $371,591,429 (3 films - Blue Beetle, Asteroid City, Little Mermaid)
7. Chienspeare - $237,783,683 (2 film - Demeter, Indiana Jones)
8. Bankspeare - $162,126,522 (1 film - Elemental)
9. Sixspeare - $169,784,090 (1 film - Talk to Me)

The following films appear to be done:
GOTG Vol. III (Ron, 1st round) = $358,995,815
Transformers : Rise of the Beasts (Skrykemi, 3rd round) = $157,066,392
The Flash (Six, 1st round) = $108,133,313
No Hard Feelings (Chien, 6th round) = $50,452,282
Ruby Gillman (Six, 3rd round) = $15,753,600

9/1
The Equalizer 3 (Screen, 4th round)

9/8
The Nun II (Six, 5th round)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (Ron, 9th round)

9/15
A Haunting in Venice (Spectre, 6th round)
Dumb Money (Banks, 7th round)

9/22
Expend4bles (Shrykemi, 8th round)

As I expected, The Flash was the bomb of the summer. And yet, the same idiots that wanted this movie are probably claiming it was a hit while continuing their mantra about how Disney is dying.

I had hoped that the inclusion of Michael Keaton's Batman was going to make it a success. Guess those Snydercut boys are a much smaller number than assumed

And i could have taken Barbie

I have no regret of not drafting Barbie, because I remember there was no way I would have taken it 1st round in April. I thought Tranny was crazy to do so. Kudos to you, Tranny. Had I not taken Indy, I would have probably taken Aquaman in round 1, or even The Flash, without hesitation, ahead of barbie, which I wouldn't have touched before round 2. So absolutely no regret.

It could very well be frontloaded. They didn't show for her few minutes in Amsterdam.
