I think it also owes to the fact it seems this year there are, for now, except in March, very few films dated for 2024, which gives some interesting space for films not yet dated. Or maybe we're just a bunch of gamblers.
I sent en email to Ron to tell him he needs to pick again.
Yeah I think that sums it up. The bucket we’d typically draft from in the later rounds isn’t really on the calendar right now so it makes for a deeper undated pool and less upside in what’s left. So people are gambling rather than taking the low upside films on the calendar.

Yeah, the spirit of the late rounds is throwing darts and the ones with the highest upside tend to be the ones that aren't dated yet. It may've become a bit more prevalent in recent years, but I feel like it's always been a big part of the FY draft.

I had such an annoying time trying to find suitable replacements for my moved films, that I did what I could this draft to get guaranteed or nearly=guaranteed films. $10m from a film in August is better than scrabbling for a film that comes out at the end of August.

Even my TBA films will almost certainly come out before May 24, as they're all in post and virtually ready to go

I took a similar approach for the exact same reason. By the time January/February/March rolls around, you're relegated to digging through the scrap heap trying to find something that might be able to get you $3-5 million in most situations. I just did a quick scan of the wire from last year's game and Air was the only movie picked up after January 1st that made more than $10.1 mil.

I really wish we could have an official end to the draft so we can have a good look at everyone's lineups and see who has the best shot at winning.

Sorry everybody. I swear I checked the list up and down many times, obviously did a man look. I've been working Nights but flew in home today. When I get infront of my PC I'll do a massive research session and pick a TBD thats slated for 2027.

The Mr. Irrelevant pick in the NFL Draft doesn't take this long.
