It's been so long. I'll set up a waiver wire later today. Once I remember what a waiver wire is.
I have no problem taking care of it. I've got a block of free time this morning and a working knowledge of waiver wire mechanics ;)

We haven't really commented on the draft and I have a bit of time at work, so here's my personal breakdown on my favorites picks of each round, excluding my own of course :

R1 : Black Panther by Tranny. Obviously Six' pick of Avatar is the best, but I can't believe the Black Panther sequel fell to the 4th pick, that was a steal.
R2 : Ant-Man by Boosch. A Marvel film in round 2 is a great pick, even if the Ant-man films do less business than the other superheroes.
R3 : Super Mario by Tranny. It's a risk as the film could very well be postponed. But if it' not, it's gonna be a fantastic Round 3 pic.
R4 : Haunted Mansion by Spectre. We're still far from it but Disney attractions can turn into very profitable movies.
R5 : I wanna dance with somebody by Spectre. I was this close to picking it myself in this round. Whitney is a very popular singer, who knows how high her biopic could fly.
R6 : She said, by Boosch. This film could very well be one of the most talked about of the fall season, good bet.
R7 : Cocaine Bear by Six : I honestly don't know what to make of this film, but sometimes those unexpected films surprise, at this stage it's worth the bet.
R8 : Samaritan by Shryke. Stallone as an old superhero in the late summer, that sounds like a good late summer pick.
R9 : Operation Fortune, by Tranny. This is the round when things got harder to pick. If released in a good way, a new Guy Ritchie with Statham should work well at this stage.
R10 : Bones and All by Screen. I contemplated it around this stage, it could go either way, but the reminiscence of the Call me by Your Name combo could work.
R11 : Mrs Harris Goes to Paris by Shryke. It's the kind of classical film for an older audience that could make a good summer counter-programming.
R12 : On a Wing and a Prayer by Tranny. I wanted to take it in the late rounds but didn't. A christian film aroun Easter should work well at the BO.

Overall I'd say Six, with Avatar, is the man to beat, but Tranny and Spectre each have an interestingly balanced slate.

I'm thinking Operation Fortune ends up getting sold off to streaming. The film probably wouldn't have made more than $15 million had it stayed at March and STX doesn't have any money right now. It wouldn't surprise me if Hulu or Amazon made an offer for it.

Meanwhile, I'm feel that Challengers ends up being the Guadagnino film released this year. Though filming only just started, it seems like the easier to sell film of his and MGM may very well rush it into December. Bones and All meanwhile probably ends up being more like Suspiria, considering the horror elements, and probably ends up only being platformed.

Operation Fortune seems like a longshot to be sold off. STX just got new corporate backers and specifically cited Operation Fortune in the part of the press release where they reiterated their commitment to theatrical releases. Whether STX has the infrastructure in place to successfully market anything properly at this point is another question entirely, but they appear poised to release it themselves.

The Gentlemen didn't do all that well compared to some of Guy Ritchie's other successes. Sure, the film seemed to be popular with violence-obsessed teen boys but that doesn't mean Operation Fortune will does well. Operation Fortune feels less like a theatrical film and more like something you'd watch at home and can turn off if you don't like it while moving onto another movie or series.

I'd also be surprised if any of their other titles went to theatres. There's no way Bed Rest opens in the summer, especially seeing how the film seemed to get made with the hope that In the Heights would be a hit for it to ultimately flop, and the less said about the rest, the better. STX has already had to put one future project (a sequel to Greenland hardly anyone asked for) into bankruptcy protection and I could see more headed that way, especially since it seems like these new owners have no experience in film production or distribution.

I think pretty much any film beyond round 2 has a risk of going to a streamer.

Yeah, the inflated risk of titles getting sold or transitioned to a streaming service is going to make this game even more unpredictable.

Not a lot of depth but these top picks look pretty good so far. Shryke's got to be happy with Doctor Strange so far. And Top Gun is looking like a massive hit so far. Here's hoping Jurrasic World does what it can to continue to trend :)

Even though they are claiming Dominion will be the last, I bet it's not. Back when Fallen Kingdom was in the planning stages, there were plans for two more after that.

You just know Universal's going to announce Jurassic World 4 in the next few weeks once the numbers come in.

Gotta say, the Universal-backed Dracula movie that finished shooting last October was one of the last titles from my slate that I expected to be moved out of the season and that shit moved at the 2-week mark! Going to be a fun one gang
