Calm down I'm here. I'll take Brahmastra. This is the Indian movie that really breaks out. 35 million plus which is pretty good at this point

I was hoping to take that in the 11th or 12th. It could be a crossover hit or end up like RRR: one excellent week before a massive tank.

I don't have much hope in its commercial prospects, but I will take Men.
It's not destroying. It's making something new.

Since it's a little after 3:00 am where Ron is, I guess we'll need to take an intermission.

Surprised the film actually got made, especially after the distributor tried to use California tax credits but film in Canada.

Getting to that point in the draft where the August/September releases don't look all that bad

So I'll start with Beast. Idris Elba, Will Packer Productions and a dated poster that came out at CinemaCon so a reasonable shot to stick on the calendar. Not sure how much of a chance I give it to break out but I'll even take mediocre numbers at this point.

Then I'll grab Asteroid City. Sounds like it's going to debut at Venice instead of Cannes but it's Wes and the cast looks even bigger than usual. Not sure if Searchlight will distribute this but so long as it lands on the calendar, it'll be alright.

I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix ended up getting Asteroid City, as Wes Anderson is contracted to do his follow-up there. After Searchlight didn't do much of an awards campaign for The French Dispatch, I'd have to imagine Anderson has some resentment towards them.

Anyway, I'm taking yet another family-friendly movie and choosing Marcel the Shell with Shoes On.
