I had The Banker as well

Should we add the GI Joe movies since they got drafted in B?

I don't see any evidence of any GI Joe film currently in production, just a few in development.

Paramount seems to be more interested in reviving the Transformers franchise at this point. Also with the rumored budget cuts at the studio, it's more likely G.I. Joe could go into turnaround and Hasbro either self-finances it (this is how their planned Power Rangers 2 is going to be made) or teams up with another financier.

Which of the Big Five (Four?) studios, now, will buy Paramount? My money's on Universal.

Lionsgate had expressed interest but with their money issues (they claimed Starz bailed them out but I don't think they made back that $2 billion plus whatever debt that quickly), I think they're out of the running.

It's going to be someone with major interest in the film library. Universal already owns some of the Paramount library plus international home video rights via a joint venture struck a few years back (ironically after the two had dissolved an international distribution alliance some years earlier), so that's a good guess. Another possibility is an outside buyer. China has downplayed its entertainment interests (much like Japan did two decades later when everyone thought they would take over the world) but investors are still financing a number of films, even with Paramount not wanting to work with the Chinese anymore. I think if the price is right, a company like Alibaba (who has a motion picture label) could buy Paramount. I could also see an Indian buyer (Paramount's parent company has Indian interests) or even MGM or the reformed Spyglass (the latter recently struck a distribution deal with Warner Bros.) putting bids (both also have libraries, MGM with the massive one they've struck many licensing deals with, the latter has access to the Weinstein library through its connection with Lantern).

But otherwise, I don't see a big major swallowing up another major for the time being. Disney has a full plate, Warner Bros. is busy with its restructuring (they also have a big debt to cover as a result of the AT&T merger), and Sony is in a constant state of flux (they have the distribution rights to Spider-Man in perpetuity but they keep pushing the Affirm line as the future, why?).

Since Disney moved New Mutants into DC's april Superhero placeholder spot. I'm assuming they will just let it go. So i'd like to drop Wonder Woman 2 and i'll pick up Passion of the Christ 2..... For now....

If Passion of the Christ 2 comes out with at least 3-4 weeks of earning potential, whomever has it in either league is going to win. All of us took so many flyers on shit that may or may not come out, that I'm not sure we'd be able to overcome a whopper like that. We'd all let out a collective "Jesus Christ"

Filming doesn't begin until next month. I'd be surprised if Mel had a finished movie in just ten months.

Meanwhile, I'll drop my pushed back movies for The Lodge and The Glorias: A Life on the Road.
