With that in mind - I think more about next draft - since this season is over for me.
I think with more movies going to streaming it's time to consider creative options.

I like 2 fewer rounds - gives us something to have on the Waiver wire.
And I really like some type of Oscar "bonus"
I'd propose $25 million for a Best Pic nomination. 5 million for any additional nomination in any category.

So this plays out like - Round 9 and I'm debating between The Irishman (which won't report) and Playing with Fire - which I think will get $40 million. Do I bet on the Irishman getting 7-8 awards. In which case it's the better pick? Or go with John Cena.
Does someone take a risk on Parasite and end up with a pleasant surprise instead of a total dud like Playmobil.
Marriage Story becomes an option.
But maybe you take a gamble on The Aeronauts and it turns out to be a non-nominee. There's risk and reward.

I don't think it should be for too much money - I'm thinking enough to make rounds 10-14 more interesting and more challenging.

Thought I'd throw this out there now before the actual Oscar noms come around. Then maybe we could adjust depending on how we see those play out.

Not sure of other options to add more movies to the mix - but I'd be open.

I like some of these ideas. It seems we will be (gradually) be returning to a time (like the 70's/80s) when only 1-2 films were released into theaters per week, so fewer rounds is definitely warranted. As for the Oscar bonus, well, we have time to flesh this out before the next season starts.

I like Walleye's suggestions of moneytising streaming films that get awards noms.

Presumably it will only be for the 8 "creative" Oscar categories: Film, Director, Actor and S Actor, Actress and S Actress, and the two screenplay awards.

I'm not in favor of the Oscar bonus thing. I'm not as smart as you guys at that stuff and feel like that makes things to muddled and complicated. Wouldn't it be easier just to do fewer rounds?

Or have bonuses for best picks per round like we are the other draft we just did. Something that ties in the gross totals.

Just my opinion.

Brockster if you want I can share with you some ways you can be equally as smart or better then all of us with the Oscar stuff. It’s not too hard. 75% of it is looking at November December limited releases by big name directors. A couple years ago it could have been Cuaran with Roma and this year Scorsese with Irishman. Next you can google way too early Oscar predictions probably the day after the current oscars and get a few other ideas from there.

I'm thinking Mank's going to be the movie to beat at next year's Oscars and it's going to Netflix. Not sure if anyone will pick it in the draft.

Either Oscar bonus or Best of the round bonus is fine for me.
Although I don't think those bonuses should be too high, it should only be a bonus, as the word suggest, and not an advantage. I've read 25 million, and that's too much I think.

I prefer Oscar bonus to Best Round.

Best Round doesn't quite work for me because you're rewarding someone who already has gained an advantage.

I'd say I could get even better than that.

With 1917 hot buzz right now, it should do an extremely interesting score, maybe even in the 120/130 territory. Bad Boys III i tracking solidly, so it could get in the 80/90M zone. And Blake Lively films are often an easy 30/40 million. SO if I'm optimistic, I could get 250 out of those 3.

You clearly don't remember All I See is You, Chien. Didn't even hit a million domestically.
