Thanksgiving is pretty weak this year. Tangled looks like the only hit, Love & Other Drugs will likely perform like most of Edward Zwick's other films and Burlesque (basically Glitter with retro-exotic dancers) and Red Dawn will most likely be pushed back.

I still have a list of about three picks which could perform very well, I just have to hope nobody picks them in any round and they can fill my slate out!

I've got two I was hoping for... I'll take the less risky one: Life As We Know It.

Let's hope Heigl can continue her Romantic Comedy hit list (assuming she and the guy are romantically linked in the film). This one will either do well or flop.
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Yeah, I was thinking about taking Life As We Know It, but it's facing the 2nd weekend of How Do You Know and opening against Little Fockers.

I think those two will overshadow it. Although I read somewhere, they might bump it up to October, since it's been finished for awhile now.

Heigl is fast becoming a hated celebrity (due to her claim that Knocked Up was sexist and then doing the even more sexist The Ugly Truth right after as well trashing the Grey's Anatomy writers) and Killers might not help her at all. Josh Duhamel can't sell a romantic comedy and the director's only other movie was a Zach Braff movie from ten years ago. I can't see it doing well against the onslaught of 3-D movies and Oscar bait.

Well, that eliminates all of my third-tier films except one.

I'll take The Next Three Days (11/19) and hope that Lionsgate markets it okay.

I like the cast: Russell Crowe, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Banks, and directed by Paul Haggis.

Well, now we are down to films that might have to work to reach $50M.

Sigh.

If it is indeed the LAST of the series, it may bring back some of the audience that gave up 2-3 chapters back. If.

I'll take Saw VII 3-D.

And monkey? I wouldn't take that turd with my 11th pick. Maybe my 12th, unless there's a Paris Hilton movie opening in the next year that I don't know about...

It was one of a few I was considering. I think that Paranormal Activity took away a lot of its audience last year and with the added boost of 3D I think it should perform a little more respectably than the last volume.

Hopefully since its an Easter themed film, it won't move an inch. I'll take IHOP.

We had this discussion last year about Toy Story 1 & 2. I didn't think it should, but most did, so it counted. I personally don't think that reissues should count.

So this disqualifies the Grease reissue as well?
