I wouldn't be surprised to see a number of theatres not play it in the end. Do you think theatres would allow an auditorium to run an edited version of a film to sparse crowds while both the uncut version and an even longer cut are available on demand and on home video? In addition, a lot of parents took their kids to see it in its original form, defeating the entire purpose of a PG-13 cut.

But then again, Fox somehow got 3,000 theatres to run a recut miniseries to a paying audience some years back.

Man, the studios have really been screwing with our game this year. First Avengers and then a possible DP2 re-release? But is it a new movie? The same one? Don't they realize they're pissing off 24 super invested movie fans!
