I think Peyton Manning's getting looked at for that.

Boosh had the wrong Manning brother, but Eli Manning recently got sued for his alleged involvement in a sports memorabilia fraud ring. They actually reached a settlement earlier this week.

I'm referring to something I heard about Peyton dumping his Papa John's shares before the stock tanked (at least he wasn't investing in MoviePass) and reports that he might have known that the value would drop.

Of course, it was Jimmie Whisman (of Crime in Sports/Small Town Murder fame) that said this and he can say some off-the-wall things (especially when drunk and in front of a crowd).

He sold his 30-ish franchises just before PJs cut ties with the NFL due to pizza sales being down. The reasoning was that all the protesting was hurting Papa Johns sales. He's still the spokesman because he's contractually obligated, but I think he didn't want to be part of the beef between the company and the NFL.

My apologies. Like W said, I knew Peyton sold the Papa John's he owned in the Denver-area, but I hadn't heard that he was accused of dumping his stocks after receiving insider information.

I don't think he did own stock in Papa Johns and I don't see it anywhere online. As part of his spokesman deal he invested in franchises in and around Denver. He sold the franchises. I'm fairly certain that has nothing to do with the SEC and I haven't seen one thing accusing him of anything illegal for this particular action (just a bit of shadiness). A secondary reason for him giving them up may be less business, but I'm sure he mostly didn't want to be caught up one either side of the anthem debate. Anyone except Mr. John himself could see the backlash coming a mile away.

And the Waiver Wire thread starts with a discussion about pizza, Peyton Manning, and the NFL.

I love this place...

I'm fairly certain Martha Stewart went to prison for something like that.
It's all part of Six's cunning plan to get sent to a women's prison.

Boosh, any idea if Eighth Grade is getting released in theaters or not, and if so, how big a platform?

If not, we'd better start thinking about replacing it...

It's most definitely opening on July 13th (I have no idea why Box Office Mojo removed the film from their listings). It's opening limited but A24 seems to be pushing it hard enough that it will go wide at some point.
