It's funny, last year I finished 3rd and you 4th, so if things turn out like I predict, the European race for the bronze will be the 2nd in a row !

I think this is finally the end of the line for me... first time missing a billion with a demotion attached.

Too many early busts and date moves to survive barring a miracle date move. Curse you 10 pick!

Indeed your chances don't look too good Spectre.
Poppins' disappointing numbers for a #1 pick and First man's lack of power didn't help your slate, despite Venom and halloween strong numbers.

Yep and even still, I’d still stand a chance of pulling it off if Ad Astra (which was in post-production when I took it and had no good reason to miss its date) didn’t move. Guess I’ll have to add James Gray into the Doug Liman “can’t finish a film on time” club.

Well you could argue that James Gray having never tackled a film of such a scale in a genre he hadn't touched before, there were reasons to be suspicious of Ad Astra, but we had reached a round when it was something to try indeed.

Sure... my thinking was that Ad Astra had over a year from when it moved into post in Nov 2017. I assumed that was enough time. Yet Gray said last month it's far from finished and that he doesn't know if it'll make the current May 2019 date. He's on my naughty list going forward

I hope you're right... would actually give me a chance if something good moves within the season. I don't think it'll be that close between #7 and #8 though.

Good news for JAS: What Men Want is testing extremely well. I guess there was a need to remake What Women Want after all.

I also found that including the writers of the original, there are ten credited writers on the film.

I've felt pretty good about this year since June, but Jas's slate sure looks interesting. I still think Marvel and Dumbo are going to underperform - at least enough to keep me on top. But he doesn't need much to sneak out the win. I'm hoping to try this game from Spectre's assigned seat next year. He won once from #10 after all - only bad luck knocked him so far down this year.

If Marvel is going to continue to start the summer last week in april then can we just start the draft a little earlier and include the full Avengers gross in next years draft as well?

I'd personally be fine with moving it up to the last week in April. Marvel has clearly moved the "start of the season" to the last weekend in April (you know that May 2020 placeholder will move too) so it would make sense for us to do the same instead of splitting two films every year.

The only issue is that to convert to that timing, we'd have to either a) figure out standings before the last week of the year to determine draft order (which may be impossible) or b) allow whoever takes Endgame this year to have knowledge of its opening week take when they draft it.

I don't know. This is the last Avengers movie, so who's to say that Marvel's going to do the same thing in 2020? In any case, the point is moot for this season. We may agree to start the draft a week early, but that won't be until next year. Plenty of time to decide.

For the 2019 draft, we'll do that same thing we did last year - anyone who wants Avengers: Endgame can get it MINUS its first seven days of productivity.
