Totes agree with what Herald said, above, bee tea dubs. I don't think Disney can release an MCU film, at this point, that will shallow, say, $225M, and Carol Danvers / Ms. Marvel / "Captain Marvel" could easily put up numbers on an arc between "Wonder Woman" and "Black Panther", being as it is more or less a direct prequel to the third and fourth "Avengers" films. And "Mary Poppins Returns", with Emily Blunt very likely to be up for a Best Actress Oscar for "A Quiet Place", will do $250M with its eyes shut, parasol closed and a spoonful of Splenda. Great choices. ...Jerks. :D

With the last pick for Round One, I'm going with "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald".

With the first pick of Round the Second, I'll take "Aquaman". You have to risk it if you want the sea biscuit.

I will never understand why Emily Blunt is in such high demand (and she's not going to pull out a Daniel Kaluuya and get an Oscar nomination for an early released film). The UK has so many better actresses.

Oh right, she married Jim Halpert.

Seriously. The film industry has no originality when casting women. When Hollywood casts a European female character in a movie, she's almost always played by Emily Blunt.

It's as if they rather go by "Who lives in California?" rather than "Who's the best actor for this part?"

But it could be worse. They could cast Emma Stone as Queen Anne.

I was targeting Venom, but I guess I'll have to double on up on animated fare in the early going and take The Lego Movie 2

Was well aware you were being serious, I just think that it's wildly degrading (not to mention, 1,000,000,000,000% false) to imply that Emily Blunt is only so in-demand because she's married to John Krasinski.

The film industry almost never gives European actresses a chance. 95% of them get one chance and even if it's a hit, you never see them again (Remember when Audrey Tautou was big? We haven't seen her in a film in years it seems like.). But then you keep seeing Blunt in movies? Why? Because she got married and became a US citizen.

It's the reality (and also reflective of the film industry's conservativism). Had Blunt not married Krasinski, so many of the films she's appeared would look much different.

On a related note, #MeToo is great and all (though Judd Apatow is a hypocrite and should be forced to step away) but there is still so much to do in fighting misogyny and harassment in the industry. Give more than the same few actresses a chance is one of them.

Blunt's matured into quite an actress: "The Young Victoria", "Edge of Tomorrow", "Sicario", "The Girl on a Train", and, now, "A Quiet Place". She has an incredibly diverse array of characters she can play convincingly; I think she's right up there with Any Adams, Rachel McAdams, Keira Knightley, and Anne Hathaway in that regard.

I think "A Quiet Place" is going to be up for multiple Oscars: "Best Sound", "Best Sound Editing", "Score", "Original Screenplay", "Supporting Actress", maybe even "Director", as well as, I strongly suspect, "Best Picture". But probably its best bet will be for "Best Actress".

Just my take, for whatever it's worth. My opinion and three bucks will get you some burned dirty water at Starbucks.

Well I thought The Lost City of Z would up for Oscars last year and it didn't get anything.

If you open early in the year and your movie's not named Get Out (which Universal sold to the HFPA as a comedy just to give it an edge), you're not getting anything.

And Nico, have you seen Hush? It did the whole sign-language thing two years earlier and didn't need a $17 million budget or big stars to be effective.

Thanks, Ron Burgundy! Yeah, coming back was a not at all bad choice. (Unlike, the milk.) Nice to be with y'all on Whore Island again. ;)

I have seen "Hush", but I need to watch it again. What did you think of "Don't Breathe"?
