Please everyone, get lists prepared. I'm usually pretty much on here all the time (until May 11 when I'm off to Cannes, with Chien!) so send my any lists you may need.
Either give it a fucking rest, or replace me. The rules say 12 hours.

I'll be on to check every morning and every evening (approximately 6-7 AM, then again 6-7 PM, if not a little sooner, eastern time). I will never miss a 12 hour window.

That being said, Give me Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes pf Grindelwald.

Maybe we can skip Spectre a few times. That guy needs a handicap or something.

I was thinking about Lego Movie 2 for Round 2 but it's been a production rife with delays (it's either on its third or fourth director) and production only started in October. It would not be surprising to see another delay on it.

Isn’t picking last a big enough handicap? :P

Well all the safe stuff that I was hoping would fall to me is gone as expected so I’ll grab Mary Poppins Returns. Holiday musical, Disney, Blunt, Miranda, Streep... I just hope people don’t see it as the unnecessary sequel that it is because it’ll be big otherwise.

Then I’ll take a gamble and grab Venom. I know they don’t always tell the story but YouTube views/likes have been absolutely ridiculous for the latest trailer and it has a ton of buzz. If it can appeal to the Spidey audience and tap into the Marvel mojo, it could break out (if it doesn’t suck).

I think Ralph will do well. I don't know if it has quite the following of other cartoons, but for me and my family we loved the first one - and we've got pretty diverse tastes when it comes to "kids" movies.

I think they waited too long to do another Wreck-It Ralph (2-3 years would have been better than waiting six). Also, putting sequels back in the Disney Animated Canon (it was long against policy to do so) could lead to some vocal hate among the animation "community".

Yes, it will make money but don't expect Frozen/Zootopia-numbers.

I got burned by the first Ant-Man but this is hot off of Infinity War (but of course, the first came hot off of Age of Ultron and still underperformed) and July is barren in breakouts (all I see are Dwayne and some tired franchises).

Ant-Man and The Wasp

Has it really been 6 years? Jesus where does the time go? I don't think anyone cares whether Disney is making animated sequels. Pixar has done it with great success. People just want the movies to be good.

I don't expect it to match those either, but at this point, I'm happy very happy with the high floor. Should be a solid 200 million.

You forgot those cheap ones they made after the Aladdin and Lion King sequels did so well on video. People hated those.

This is the first sequel to a Disney animated feature in a long time (and the first to be in the official canon since The Rescuers Down Under, the film that led to the old studio policy) but I'm not sure if there's still animosity in the Disney fan community. I just know some won't be happy.

Also, I know that at one point, Wreck-It Ralph was going to feature Mario. Then Illumination got the Nintendo licenses and Disney had to start over.
