i made an excel spreadsheet, but i still don't know what to pick first. If avengers had only kept it's date, it would be an easy first pick.

I will plug the Sunday estimates into the spreadsheet. If there are any races that will need to go to the final numbers to determine draft order, we will begin on Monday evening (my time). If, however, the estimates leave everyone far enough apart that a draft order seems set in stone, we can begin on Sunday.

Sweet! I'm set with my first pick (having now second guessed it about a dozen times) so the sooner the better before I change my mind again!

Theres a pretty good chance i stay in Div B, i wouldnt be pissed if Avengers didnt change dates...to top it off, i get to pick 2nd last. Bullshit.

So i think im going for the wing it strategy again, hopefully ill tank to the bottom and get a No.1 pick for the following draft

on another note; i have to express- mainly because im watching the movie now:

i really wanted Downsizing i thought the combo of a Star in Matt Damon and Alexander Payne pretty much overdue to break out (after The descendants and Nebraska- both good) meant blockbuster, not to mention the christmas release date. Well, i was wrong, and lucky it was picked before i could.

Heres the thing, had the film been done better (i remember six's review pointed towards the movie being nowhere near Payne's last efforts) and maybe on another weekend- hell, it could have been January- it might have been a smash hit.

rant over...

Okay, here's another update regarding draft order.

ASSUMING Avengers meets expectations and pulls $250M this weekend, here is how the draft order will shape up. This will take into account JohnErle's withdrawal from the game.

Division A
1. Division A - 7th place finisher
2. Division A - 6th place finisher
3. Division A - 5th place finisher
4. Division A - 4th place finisher
5. Division A - 3rd place finisher
6. Division B - 3rd place finisher
7. Division A runner-up OR Division B runner up (whoever finishes with the lower cume)
8. Division A runner-up OR Division B runner up (whoever finishes with the higher cume)
9. Division A winner OR Division B winner (whoever finishes with the lower cume)
10. Division A winner OR Division B winner (whoever finishes with the higher cume)

Division B
1. Division B - 10th place finisher
2. Division A 10th place finisher OR Division B 9th place finisher (whoever finishes with the lower cume)
3. Division A 10th place finisher OR Division B 9th place finisher (whoever finishes with the higher cume)
4. Division A 9th place finisher OR Division B 8th place finisher (whoever finishes with the lower cume)
5. Division A 9th place finisher OR Division B 8th place finisher (whoever finishes with the higher cume)
6. Division B 7th place finisher
7. Division B 6th place finisher
8. Division B 5th place finisher
9. Division B 4th place finisher
10. Nico

So here is how it looks:

Division A
1. Walleye
2. Shaan
3. aquamann
4. Six
5. Chien
6. Buscemi
7. Geezer
8. Jas
9. Spectre
10. leestu

Division B
1. weissac
2. UDM
3. Surfer
4. W
5. Shryke
6. Banks
7. Brockster
8. transformers
9. Ron B
10. Nico

If one thing can be taken from this season, it's that Spectre proved that you can win from the 10th spot.

Why would a Div B winner with a higher cume than a Div A winner go last? I don't see the sense. Whoever has a higher cume shouldn't have any bearing on where they pick next draft: as the two divisions are always going to have different picks all round.

In my opinion, the winner of Div A should always go last next draft. Like Div B last place goes first...

I'm trying to find a system that is equitable.

Both the Division A and Division B winners are coming off wins, and both will be in Division A. They can't BOTH go last. I used the cume as a tiebreaker because I couldn't think of anything ELSE to use as a tiebreaker.

Here's an alternative plan:

Division A
1. Division A - 7th place finisher
2. Division A - 6th place finisher
3. Division A - 5th place finisher
4. Division A - 4th place finisher
5. Division A - 3rd place finisher
6. Division B - 3rd place finisher
7. Division B - 2nd place finisher
8. Division A - 2nd place finisher
9. Division B - winner
10. Division A - winner

IMHO, none one who is promoted from Division B to Division A should be rewarded by picking in the Top 5. Other than that, does anyone have a problem with this? I would really like to find a format that works for everyone - if that's possible.

Really, is the difference between picking 9th and picking 10th that big?

So are we ready to start? Are there any races that could be effected based on the range of outcomes for Avengers?

There are a few close margins that I will want to see resolved beyond a shadow of doubt. We will get those Sunday morning. After that, I believe we will be able to start.

Shryke in terms of draft order I don't know that it matters that much. As they guy who picked 9 this last year cause I won Division B, you just have to draft the hand you're dealt. so, your call, in my opinion.

Anything's fine with me. I'm not concerned by the question of #9 and #10 though. But honestly we could each year choose the order randomly I'd still be fine with it, I just love the draft so much no matter in which spot I draft.
