Well, while we're waiting on this week's tally - we're three months away from the end. What did we learn in this draft? Who scored? Who failed? A bit of review perhaps:

Round 1 Geezer scored with Star Wars, no surprise - but nice job not overthinking it. Six is your next winner with Wonder Woman - quite a surprise. All the Marvel movies rocked. It's just UDM and Me that are scraping the barrel. I should have picked Black Panther.

Round 2 - Bleah. What a lame round. Spectre seems like the winner with Dunkirk so far. Shaan has the worst of it though with The Star

Round 3 - some real highs and terrible lows. Chien scored with Jumanji. And Six has It making bank. We all can kick ourselves for missing on both of those. But I'm kicking myself the most for picking the House - the worst BO from Will Ferrel in years!

Round 4 - I make up some ground with The Greatest Showman. But Six and UDM also did well with Daddy's Home and Murder on the Orient Express respectively.

Round 5 - Another rough round with UDM and Six getting the worst of it by having their movies delayed. JE might be the winner here with The Post.

Round 6 - Wonder is the clear winner here, but Geezer's not far behind with Girls Trip. JE would have had the worst luck with Suburbicon, but W got hosed entirely thanks to God Particle disappearing into space.

Round 7 - I swear this whole round got delayed. Is Rampage going to be the best pick? Yeah, I think so.

Round 8 and beyond - Not a lot of late round winners. Some were certainly better than others. Aquamann scored twice with Baby Driver in 9 and Insidious in 11. Round 10 had some good Oscar Bait that is still collecting at the Box Office. But the flyers and the dreams are coming up short. Love, Simon might be one of the few late round guesses that works out. I know none of mine did.

In the end, Six, Geez, and Chien seem like the leaders of the class this year. Spectre is going to make up a lot of ground in the next few months and might make it a 4 man race. But the rest of us are fighting for 5th-10th and a drop to the B league. By my guess, I think A Wrinkle in Time and my holdovers get me up to 7th, maybe 6th. But the way this year has gone I won't count on that until the end of April comes around. As for the winner - I still think Six looks pretty good, with a few more films coming out. Geez has the Fifty threequel and Peter Rabbit coming which should close the gap and push him past Six at the end of it. Chien is 225 behind and has Ready Player One plus a slew of movies coming out. I don't know - I still think Geez pulls it out in a squeaker, with Six second and Chien third. Spectre just misses out on the Bronze.

I was hoping more of Paddington 2, but Horse Soldiers was strong and Jumanji pushed it even more than I thought it would in the last couple of weekends so that compensates.
I think that between what's still getting me money and my films left to open, I might still collect about $300M if Ready Player One is as big as I hope it is. We'll see if it's enough. I won't settle for 3rd place !!!

My main issue this year (aside from draft slot ) is that I absolutely whiffed from Rounds 3-9 (excluding Rampage). The double digit round picks I made that stuck on the calendar actually ended up fine for where I drafted them but man... Downsizing, My Little Pony, Logan Lucky... ugh.

Unless there's a major surprise I expect to come in 3rd. Chien has a bunch of good films, particularly Pacific Rim and Ready Player One, to come out, and Jumanji is still holding strong.

And Geez has Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades, which should net him at least 100m if not 150m.

If The Upside had kept its date I might have had a chance, but all that's left is Overboard, The Pact, and A Prayer Before Dawn. I'd be luck to get 50m out of the 3 of them.

The Pact is now titled Blockers and there might be enough people curious to watch John Cena get a beer enema to get that to $50 million.

Overboard should be good for $25-30 million based on the strength of the leads.

I think It's gonna be really close between 1st and 3rd this year, probably the closest ever. We'll all be within the same $100M, maybe even closer to each other than that.

Wow, and with at least 2 big films coming out next month, you're guaranteed another 250m. Think you're going to win this league!
