Hasn't been mentioned anywhere else in the world...

I wouldn't make any moves until it's been confirmed by literally any other news outlet, personally.

Edit - Looks like BOM has changed the date too, presumably based on BoxOffice's tweet. I wish someone would confirm this, like Amy or STX or even Deadline, THR....

I'll throw a bid on it just in case I guess. Conditionally dropping Midnight Sun if I get it.

I will also throw down a conditional bid on it and drop Thoroughbreds.

Tranny, you win I Feel Pretty. You're now at the bottom of the Wire.

Looking for some options.... can Sgt. Stubby, You Were Never Really Here and Zoo Wars be added?

Also, since transformers dropped Thoroughbreds more than a week ago, can I claim it and drop Let It Snow?

Change made.

I have added those three films to the wire.

Add Infinity War to the wire, as Marvel confirmed they have moved it up to April 27th. If I win, I'll drop I Can Only Imagine.

WTAF???

Well, that blows my draft order for next year into smithereens.... The #1 movie of the year, and it'll be in the game for exactly one fucking week?

Brain working furiously...

Would y'all consent to having Avengers in the 2018-19 game, but its numbers would only reflect its box office total from its second weekend on? Seems like such a waste of a few hundred million dollars...

No. You wouldn't see other movies get this treatment so why make an exception just once?

Besides, you have a bunch of other movies you can take first.

Yes, but how many movies with this potential get released right on the cusp of the season? Even the FF movies released in April had a few weeks to make their bucks. Does anyone else want to weigh in?

If we have a vote for it, i would vote Shrykes suggestion. but i'll be honest, it's because it might work in my favor.

Though if people vote the other way, i won't be upset. whatever's most fair.

I think it's a proposal worth kicking around. Boosh has a fair point, there are always movies that get hosed. The FF movies, heck even Beauty and the Beast was going strong last year in May. But yeah, it's just a waste of a movie for the game otherwise. One weekend and then nothing? Anyway, I'd consider it.

I think it should be available on the waiver wire as per any other movie. I don't think we should change the rules at this stage of a season just for one exceptional circumstance. Just one of those quirks that sort of ends up luck of the draw.
As for next season we could always consider being able to pick a movie (any movie) that's already been released but only get the box office take from 1st May. Similar to how it is with box office champs.
By the way I am not saying this for my own sake as even though on the front page it says I am #1 on the waiver wire I am pretty sure I used that advantage with Unsane and should be near the bottom. Silly me as it may turn out.

Leestu is correct. He claimed Unsane and should have dropped on the Waiver Wire. Which means Buscemi's claim for Avengers will be honored.
