Ready Player One is one of my favorite books I've ever read. Don't know if the movie will be a big hit but with Spielberg as the director it's got as much potential as anything left on the board. Great choice in my opinion.

Actually, I think Ready Player One could move up to Christmas. With Fox fast-tracking The Post for a Christmas release, it would probably be considered an embarrassment to Warner Bros. if Spielberg's next film comes out first.W wrote:Kingsman and Ready Player One are the ones I wanted to take, but PUXAR is so safe and it's easy to see them moving Ready Player One to summer. I said that about Beauty and the Beast last year, though.
And Bastards won't do a thing at Christmas. It's been on the shelf forever and Wilson and Helms aren't box office draws.

Actually Ready Player One was supposed to open at Christmas but was moved back to March, so we'll see, but the film was shot in 2016, so I don't think it'll be postponed to summer. Besides, Easter is a great date, so why would they change ?
So, pick #3... A lot of films with some potential left on the table... and after that pick I'll have to wait 16 picks before it gets back to me so... let's choose wisely.
Well... I'll follow my plan, and pick the film that's highest on my wanted list, I'll go with Jumanji. Star Wars' shadow will be big ver Christmas, but a Dwayne Johnson / Kevin Hart combo for a big adventure / family film could be huge.

If the backlash over remaking a Robin Williams film doesn't get to it. We already saw some backlash over the Will Smith as The Genie rumors (leading Smith to pass on the role) and the film has seemingly been a difficult production (pushed back from the summer, the script having been reworked several times, having a director with a background in mid-budgeted R-rated comedies instead of adventure films).
However, it does have the advantage of being the only major family film for the Christmas season (I can't see Ferdinand doing well, especially since Disney already did the story justice and that was under 10 minutes).

At this rate if you wanted to take Lowriders we won't be able to wait until round 14 or 15 cause it will be past next weekend.

sorry, i was sleeping. i've almost decided
on another note, for some reason the site doesn't update properly for me. I was on at noon yesterday and it did not show me comments that had been made at 9AM, specifically remember a few of booschs. I saw it later in the afternoon. i was on last night at 9 and John hadn't made his choice yet, but it says he posted at 6PM now. I wonder if my time zone is incorrect or something...

I"m having such a hard time with this. So i'm just going to pick a movie that i want to see, Blade Runner 2049, and hope it goes the route of Gravity and The Martian.
