I also read Christopher McQuarrie's been brought on to co-direct said reshoots. With a new director on the project, it's going to be down to the wire to have it ready by December 16th.
I don't think it's pushed back but Disney may be forced to not screen it to critics and only have the first screenings occur days before the opening.

Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.

Re: 2016-17 Full-Year Slates (Division A)
I'd be really surprised if it gets pushed back... it would almost assuredly have to move to the summer and then you're looking at Summer '17, Winter '17 and Summer '18 for the next 3 Star Wars movies as currently scheduled. Seems like that's too crammed to keep high interest (and they've already moved Episode VIII once to create some spacing for it).
I will say though, I'd be sweating a little bit if I owned it. The reshoots sound pretty extensive.

I can't see it getting delayed.
Star Wars is more than just a movie. It's toys, breakfast cereals, video games, and a sickening number of promotional tie-ins, all of which would need to be pushed back as well. A delay would screw up a lot of people's plans.
These articles people are reading are probably just the usual click-bait, followed by the over-reactions of a passionate fanbase.

They'll probably move it to one day after the season ends. That's the kind of fucking luck I have in this game.

Definitely won't be pushed back. Plenty of time for reshoots, CGI, and grade. As Boosch said, at worst you'll just get press screenings the week of the release.
But the MAJOR concern is that it's being treated like the MCU - individual directors and their particular mark are less important than the Company Line. I'm not a fan of Gareth Edwards but he always pitched Rogue One as a Dirty Dozen style action film. So why the need to insert lightness? Can't help but wonder if this will impact Episode 8 too, and not in the good way.

Pretty good article at ew.com on the whole thing. Made me think it's not as big of a deal as most are making it out to be. Can't always trust "deep throat" sources, but I usually trust their writing.

Re: 2016-17 Full-Year Slates (Division A)
just not impressed with my first three films out, i was hoping for a good $400M, i'll be lucky to make it to $250M.
Re: 2016-17 Full-Year Slates (Division A)
I thought Me Before You was going to be a sleeper this year. Like 60-70M...surprising considering it was good counter programming against everything else out there.

I think it'll be able to reach $50M, but still for a 4th round pick, everyone wants more than that..Brockster wrote:I thought Me Before You was going to be a sleeper this year. Like 60-70M...surprising considering it was good counter programming against everything else out there.

I got Me Before You in the 7th round and I think it'll be a great pick there. I bet the holds are strong and it clears 50 - gets close to 60 even.

I think the problem was picking Me Before You in the 4th Round. It was way too early for sure.

Yeah, that was the one WTF moment I can remember from the draft. I thought maybe I missed something...Chienfantome wrote:I think the problem was picking Me Before You in the 4th Round. It was way too early for sure.
