You know I saw this great little movie last night, Civil War. Someone should think about drafting that I think it's got potential.

Anyone have Weissac's picks? He has about 3 hours left until we skip.

I will close out round 15 by taking Annihilation. My final pick I will join Banks in going down the rabbit hole and take Wonder Woman. I think Banks made some excellent points and at this point in the draft when we all are really scraping the bottom of the barrel of the release schedule, why not swing for the fences and see what happens.

Well I was trying to come up with some fantastic and amazing movie for a final selection but all I've got is the Warren Beatty Howard Hughes pic that sounds really creepy. So I guess I'll pick that.

So first of all, thank you for the long period it took to get to the last round. It gave me a lot of spare time to finish a screenplay (took three days to write!), read two novels, and get some Sporcle badges.

Second, can we have a rule next year that prevents movies scheduled outside of the time window from being picked? W and I seemed to think something like that was bound to happen and it did with Wonder Woman.

And now, my final pick...

I will select Hell or High Water. Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and a summer date (with a wide expansion planned at the end of August). Could surprise.

What's creepy about a 77 year-old playing a 53 year-old who is romantically interested in a 25 year-old?

Oh. Nevermind.

Why? It presents no advantage to anyone, it's no different from picking a TBA.

Because it creates an unfair advantage in the event that the film is moved up. Everyone should have the opportunity to get a shot at a film such as Wonder Woman in the waiver wire rather than using hunches (of which I still don't see happening as moving up Wonder Woman to March makes no sense whatsoever, especially since the June date looks so great on paper) and loopholes to take it. It's kind of like insider trading or lying about age to be eligible for a sports draft.

I don't quite see it as insider trading. Banks has no access to info the rest of us don't. It's a mix of instinct and research. And more importantly, it's actually a massive risk with the odds against him. There's no unfair advantage there, just a risky decision. And I doubt it will affect the game much (such as future drafts having people pick huge blockbusters in the last round) because most of us see it as too much of a risk.

Bottom line: if Banks and Jas want to waste their final pick, let them ;)

I don't think it has much BO potential due to its niche premise, but it's one of my most anticipated movies of the year and it's the final round, so I don't really give a shit. The Masterpiece.
