Taking a look at the slates of everyone, I'd say it's a pretty balanced competition, despite the Avengers and Star Wars factor.
Besides my own (obviously), my 3 favorite slates are those of Empire, Aquamann and Tranny, probably. I'm afraid I don't have a big enough film to lead my own pack, but I have a strong enough slate with my middle round and late picks, on the paper, to compete.

I was hoping for more from Hot Pursuit, so it would be easy to be disappointed in that OW number, but when I remember that my round six pick last year got bumped, and its waiver wire replacement earned less than 10 million, Hot Pursuit is a definite improvement over my round 6 performance last year. They can't all be home runs. Sometimes a bloop single is all you need from your leadoff hitter.

You gotta think positive John, that's the spirit ! (Sometimes you need such positivism... like when you have Hot Pursuit on your slate... ;) )

To continue that baseball metaphor, I've been lamenting that my lead-off hitter only hit a home run and not a grand slam. How silly is that?

SO glad I didn't take hot pursuit, I was about to, but then I decided to go with a winter film instead.

There were worse picks made in round 6 last year, and I'm pretty sure worse picks were made in round 6 this year. I'm not even remotely worried. This game is not won or lost with any one pick, and certainly not with a round 6 pick.

It was a three-run homer at least, so you should be happy with The Avengers, even if Star Wars has a good chance to earn more.

That is probably true. But it's so much fun picking on the first ones having their films released when you wait for your first release ;)

Hey now, I resemble that remark ;)

Get On Up bombed hard for me in the 6th and I still won the B... but I will say, losing $30M-$50M from my projection didn't exactly make things easier :P

Hot Pursuit looked like hot garbage from all the clips I had seen but I figured it would at least get some kind of bump from the female audience around Mother's Day. Looks like it just got swallowed by Ultron.

Or it could be that Reese Witherspoon hasn't been able to carry a movie since 03 (Legally Blonde 2). The only hits she's had since then are MvA (voice, could have put 100 actresses in that role), Four Christmases (Vince Vaughn was 90% the lead there), and Walk the Line (I wouldn't say people were going because it was a "Reese Witherspoon film".).

I sound like Buscemi now...
Tenet: Criterion Edition. Now with more Backwards Man.

Funnily now, it's highly probable "Hot Pursuit" won't earn as much as "Wild" which didn't play in more than 1,300 theaters at most.
OK John, ok, we'll stop now... ;)

I personally can't wait to see how bad Aloha does, personally. I think it'll be lucky to hit Hot Pursuit numbers.
