Ah, hadn't noticed. Can I take Eddie The Eagle instead, then?

I'll drop Money Monster for Carol. Better Oscar window.

I'm very curious how Room will do. It's getting tons of award buzz, but it just doesn't seem like a movie that enough folks will actually go see. That'll be an interesting one to watch and watch how it does.

Definitely is a wild card. Could end up something like Marcy Martha May Marlene or whatever order those names were in..

Or hit $30M with lots of Oscar attention.

I think it's much more emotional than Martha Marcy. The latter was more arthouse and dark. This is more about a mother-son relationship and apparently had audiences weeping. MMMM also didn't win at Toronto, which is generally a much more mainstream choice. I do agree it's a wildcard, but I'm thinking its floor is 10m and that's probably Demolition's ceiling after the reviews

However, A24 is somewhat untested with this kind of movie. If they want to be a major player in the indie/specialty game and not like every other "go for the audience everybody else goes for", Room needs an ad campaign on the level of a Fox Searchlight or a Weinstein that shows they are more than just Spring Breakers and Ex-Machina. Their distribution of films like A Most Violent Year doesn't inspire much confidence (though Amy's $8 million gross, I believe the biggest for a documentary this year, is a step in the right direction).

Adding The Big Short to the waiver wire.

And yes Boosch, all your points are valid, though I don't want to miss out in case Room performs well.

I understand. Pickings are slim at this point anyway.

I'll make a bid for The Big Short. I need to replace Miss Peregrine.

Think I'm still on time, if so may as well throw my hat in the ring for The Big Short. Would drop Viral if successful.
