For kicks I'm going to make estimates on everyone's slate and see who I'm predicting to come out on top

W: 1,210m (assuming 600m for Star Wars)
Leestu: 1,200m
Surfer: 1,120m
Ron B: 1,100m
UDM: 1,150,
Shryke: 1,080m
Weissac: 1,020m
Walleye: 1,050m
Buscemi: 1,030m

As for me, I'm hoping I can reach the 1,200m mark, with a little luck ;)

Tomorrowland dropped 58% (what is it with family films totally underperforming this summer and last?). Hot Pursuit crashed and burned. Now I know what it feels like to be Shryke. ;)

I think Disney just doesn't know how to promote non-Marvel/animated fare. I didn't expect it to be good or anything but I did expect Disney to actually care about putting a good campaign on it (seeing how it's pretty much a $190 million ad for Disney Theme Parks). Not showing footage a week before release and pretty much giving up after opening weekend seems to be par the course for today's "Marvel, Frozen and some other things" Disney.

Meanwhile, I believe there is a silver lining on Hot Pursuit failing at the box office (though Warner Bros. and MGM will probably break even on post-theatrical). It (along with The Longest Ride) might have finally killed the hicksploitation/Southern theme genre that had running for much of the decade. On the other hand, it probably ended Reese Witherspoon's status as a leading lady (which is too bad as she was beginning to pick good projects again, it was a mistake for her to return to the money projects that had made her an A-lister in the 2000's).
