Ill take a bit of a risk, but with a director that has a history of a few blockbusters and a lead star capable of getting 200+, even if the last few movies haven't been smash hits. I feel fairly comfortable picking:
Pixels

Hmm.... this is a tricky one. I want a Summer 2015 film. But not a huge amount of ones that could hit 200m. One in particular which has been receiving a lot of negative audience reaction. But will teens care? I dunno. Going to take a risk on something else...
Spy
While Melissa McCarthy's stock has been going down, this at least is getting good reviews so has a chance of good WOM and performing beyond expectations.

Will speak more on it later but I will take The Peanuts Movie.

Terminator Genisys
Re: 2015-16 Full Year Draft Thread (Division B)
Terminator was the one I wasn't sure on.
It's got a damn good release date. And it's a big franchise.
But the response to the trailers has been poor. Yet will young teenagers and blockbuster fans be that discerning?
I may end regretting not picking that one.

PS, if anyone wants to leave me their list, please do so, ideally on Facebook.
What would be ideal is if someone from each part of the world (US, Europe, and Australia) could have a list to keep the draft moving.

Wow, i think Spy and The Peanuts movie are far riskier than Terminator. Ultimately they have a high ceiling, so theres that. And what better way to reap the rewards than a hisk risk, high return bet?

Is Peanuts risky? It seems almost impossible nowadays for a major animation to do less than $100m, and with what I understand from the US affection towards its characters I have to believe it can do at least $150m, with the potential for much more. Im slightly wary because Good Dinosaur opens just a few weeks later as direct competition, but hopefully I can squeeze our a decent amount before then. Plus, every movie left has question marks over it now, Terminator being just one of them, but I will take $150m every day of the week right now wih what I feel is one of the safest movies left with a decent, not too late release slot

When I think of Peanuts I think of The Muppets. Both are fun family entertainment with more of a leaning towards adults than most. Which makes me wonder if the Peanuts Movie is guaranteed 100m. Of course, it's animated, so it's different, but I don't see it as a sure-fire blockbuster.

Re: 2015-16 Full Year Draft Thread (Division B)
I showed a number of animated trailers to my almost three year old recently, and Peanuts got by far the best reception, so I wonder whether it will actually skew younger than many animations too. I cant really compare it to the muppets as that was not an animation, but i just think Peanuts will work for so many audiences. Or at least I hope it does...

Can I have a volunteer from A division to pm my next pick to? It's likely I'll be gone for the night just before W has a chance to pick.

I'd be surprised if Pixels hit $75 million. Sony pretty much wants to be rid of it at this point (and the latest Sandler controversy over his movie on Netflix isn't helping his stock).
Everything on this post is strictly the opinion and only the opinion of Buscemi.
